I'm sure that by now many of you may have read the post on various forums or received the email about the sister Fatimah here in Binghamton, NY that has full blown AIDS. Living here in the same city we have started to verify the situation and she truly seems to be in great need. She has requested that ALL brothers trying to get information or offer assistance do so through brother Shahid in Binghamton at 607-785-1173. She has also requested that any email correspondences be done through myself at abdulmalik78@hotmail.com inshaa Allaah. From the initial briefings it appears as the sister has some exposure to Salafiyyah, however being rather new to the deen her knowledge is somewhat limited.

This is an update of the situation.
Thus far we have asked the sister to produce her medical records and she claims she mailed them three days ago to the local Imaam and another local brother. Normally it only takes a day to receive local mail here but we will update if any information is received. Their have been several inconsistencies in her case. Both her home and cell phone numbers have been disconnected the past two days. Until further confirmation of the exact nature of her situation and her actual need we advise all Muslims to withhold any financial contributions. We pray to Allaahu ta'aalaa that the truth may come out in this situation and that we may all act accordingly. Aameen.

As of my last post none of the Muslims I'm in contact with in this area have heard anything more from the sister. Both her home phone and cell phone have been disconnected without further information. We went to her apartment building and her neighbour informed us that she had suddenly moved. She had claimed to mail her medical records to three individuals but they were never received by any of them. The last day that we were supposed to meet with her she called one of our brothers back stating she had a cab waiting outside to take her and her daughter on an emergency trip to Syracuse. I checked with the dispatcher at my company and the only other company that does medical transport in Binghamton and neither of our companies took her. Later that week one of our brothers pointed out that her four month old daughter had died. Here is the link to the obituary. May Allaah reward all those who tried to sincerely help here. Unfortunately, we have lost all contact with the sister.

WHITE PLAINS ? A 27-year-old Endicott, N.Y., woman has been arrested by White Plains police in the Valentine's Day death of her infant daughter.
Tammy L. Momoh was charged with negligent homicide, a felony, Tuesday afternoon in the Feb. 14 death of McKayla Sabir in a case authorities said easily could have been dismissed as a crib death.
