Al-Baqarah (2):155-156

وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوفْ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِّنَ الأَمَوَالِ وَالأنفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ ¤ الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُواْ إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ ¤

And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sâbirin (the patient ones, etc.). Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly! To Allâh we belong and truly, to Him we shall return."

As you all may be aware, Bangladesh is suffering from the worst floods, the country has seen in many decades. According to many news agencies, all flood records have been broken and the country as a whole is suffering much. Due to the floods, lack of food, and bad water the people are suffering.

According to the BBC,

?Twenty million Bangladeshis have been affected by the floods??

?The BBC correspondent in Dhaka says that more than 40 of Bangladesh's 64 districts are now underwater?

?Officials estimate that 20m people are marooned or homeless?

?In both Bangladesh and India there is the additional fear of water borne diseases?

The above picture is of Uposhohor, Sylhet, this is considered to be in one of the more developed areas in Sylhet. If the state is like this in such a developed area one can only imagine the state in the less developed areas.
