Bismillaah, was-salaatu 'alaa rasoolillaah, wa ba'd:

Aboo Usaamah Khaleefah Ath-Thahabee Al-Amreekee said to me in an e-mail:

"...I have MADD respect for you and CRAZY love for you Masha Allah.  One of the main reasons that I feel like this for you MooMoo, is that I know whatever you say to me, or whatever position you take is because of your love for Allah, His Deen, and myself Insha Allah. There are never any dunya motivations in our relationship and I sincerely pray to Allah to continue to protect and foster and develop our relationship..."

[from an e-mail dated June 24, 2002]

NOTE: We are not able to be certain about people's intentions in a way that he has claimed in this statement: "I know whatever you say to me, or whatever position you take is because of your love for Allah, His Deen, and myself Insha Allah. There are never any dunya motivations in our relationship."

But however, these were his feelings about me that he expressed to me in his email.

Less than two weeks later, after statements that he was making in America had reached me, (you know the "I seen some things with Shaykh Rabee'" thing!) and then I advised him to fear Allaah and not talk in such a way, and reminded him of the status of SHaykh Rabee', and warned him about the dangers of Zaahid and Abdul-Mun'im, he had the following to say in an email:

"...Moo, I gotta run, but I'm disturbed and disappointed at your accusation. I love you Akhee, but still what you're saying is offensive and bogus!"

So, as you can see, in Aboo Usaamah's eyes, I have gone from being a super-sincere purified advisor who never says things except out of love of Allaah and His Deen and is never motivated by any dunyaa things, to a bogus, offensive finger-pointer who he is disturbed with and disappointed in.

So just how did I get from point A (the mukhlis) to point B (the bogus finger-pointer)?  I advised him to stop speaking ill of the shaykh and warned him about the companionship of Abdul-Mun'im and Zaahid.  So in only one correspondence I go from point A to point B, maa shaa' Allaah.

Moosaa

Assalaamu 'alaykum

What is Moo?  I pray that this does not mean or replace Moosaa.  We do not find this among Ahlul-Hadeeth.  There is no doubt that the best of Speech is the speech of Allah.  Allah said Moosaa, the Prophet (Sallalaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said Moosaa the Salaf and our Ulemaa all say Moosaa as for Aboo Usaamah he says Moo.  The word Moosaa has a meaning and significant.  As for Moo this is empty talk, the most we can give it is that it is from the a'swaat of the Baqrah.  May Allah guide you O Abaa Usaamah for indeed the Salafees stop where the Salaf stopped and the say what the Salaf used to say.  Kun Salafeeyan wa laa tabtadi'a.

Moosa, I'm surprised that he didn't go as far as to call you 'ultra-salify'!

actually it is from the sunnah for Muslims to shorten the names of their friends, as the Prophet (salllallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) did when he called Aboo hurayrah: "Aboo Hurr" and Allaah knows best.

Moosaa I know you were going to say that but that is not the case here.
