as-Salaamu alaykum wa Rahmahtullaahee wa Barakaatu
By the Grace and Mercy of Allaah, we are pleased to inform the Salafiyoon that Masjid as-Sunnah has been established in the city of Rochester, NY (western/upstate New York). This masjid will serve the brothers in Rochester and Buffalo insha'Allaahu Ta'ala. We will be establishing regular tele-links with Dammaj with the assistance of our brother Abu Anas ash-Shai'ybee, a Yemenee brother who was apart of the establishment this masjid who has returned to study in Dammaj. He will arrange for tele-links with the Mashaykh of Yemen for us insha'Allaah.
Currently, we are in search of a qualified Imaam. We have full support from the community to financially support a full time Imaam. al-Hamdulillaah, we were able to raise a large amount of money to buy a building for the purpose of a Masjid, but after we raised this money, a brother ended up donating a building. So we are using this money to make modifications to the building, build a library and fund future projects insha'Allaah.
We are looking for an Imaam who's Salafiyyah can be verified from those established Du'aat, a brother who has knowledge of the Qur'aan and is able to communicate in arabic and english.

as-Salaamu alaykum wa Rahmahtullaahee wa Barakaatu,
Masjid as-Sunnah in Rochester is in need of an Imaam and we call upon those eligible brothers to enquire insha'Allaah. We are fully capable of financially accommodating an Imaam insha'Allaah Ta'ala.
Conveyance of knowledge is an Islaamic duty. Allaah said,
"(And remember) when Allaah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) to make it ( the news of the coming of Prophet Muhammad and the religious knowledge) known and clear to mankind, and not o hide it, but they threw it away behind their backs, and purchased with it some miserable gain! And indeed worst is that which they bought." (Soorah Aali-'Imraan 3:187)
We seek assistance from the capable du'aat to answer the call insha'Allaah. It is a duty upon those who have acquired knowledge to teach it to others.
We are looking for an Imaam to fulfill a 1 yr position, we can arrange for the travel of anyone eligible for this position within N. America or abroad. Until a full time Imaam can be established, we are requesting upon those students returning for summer vacation to assist us for the summer months. An attractive salary will be available including travel expenses and accomodation insha'Allaah .
We have just established this masjid and we want to make it clear to the community what we are upon and make available the beneficial knowledge by putting one who is able, in place. At this moment, none from amongst us are in a position to be the khateeb, but because if we do not, no one will or rather the ignorant will. Likewise, if none from the du'aat answer the call we may loose the opportunity of establishing ad-dawah as-salafiyyah in upstate NY. So we ask those who are able, or those who know someone who is able to contact us.
I encourage the brothers to contact us for more info about the community as it is full of people that want to learn.
