Alhamdulillah I was fortunate enough to visit the shaykh this evening in hospital. We ere also blessed to have met Shaykh Waseeullah Abbas in the hospital reception area, so we all entered togeher.
At the shaykhs door we were recieved by his sons, amongst them Shaykh Mohammad Ibn Rabee, known for his efforts in the area of aqeedah and his checking of "Al-Hujjah Fee Bayaanil-Mahajjah Wa Sharh Aqeedatu Ahlissunnah", by Abul-Qaasim Al-Asbahaanee(d. 535H). Shaykh Mohammad is better known in the West for his book "The Reality of Sufism".
We were instructed not to shake the shaykhs's hand as he was still weak having left the operating theatre only seven hours prior.
Subhaanallah, the brothers all entered and began making dua straight away after greeting the shaykh. The shaykh in his weak state asked shaykh Waseeullah about who was heading The University of Baranis in India, as the he had only recently arrived back from his visit there. The shaykh replied and further said that Alhamdullillah he saw much that was pleasing while over there, and shaykh Rabee in this weak state said "this is what we want, news that is pleasing".
The Shaykh seems to be recovering well and should not be in hospital for long inshallah. Subhaanallah, his interest and concern for the Ummah has not ceased, though he is in this state of weakness in hospital. May Allah grant him full recovery and good health and allow us to continue benefiting from his knowledge, manners and deep understanding of the state of the Muslim Ummah. Ameen.
Shakykh Waseeullah came all the way from Makkah with his sons to meet Shaykh Rabee.
