In the name of Allaah the Most Beneficent the Most Merciful

Assalamu Alaikum

I had the opportunity to visit the Alim Sheikh Rab?ie bin Hadi at his house whilst I was in Mecca over the weekend.  Sh Mohammed Al-Banna was there and Sh Fawzi of Bahrain was visiting with some of the students from his markaz in Bahrain.

In the gathering you could see the love and friendship and concern that Sh Mohammed Al-Banna had for Sheikh Rab?ie  and visa versa in the way that they spoke to each other and Sh Mohammed Al-Banna was inquiring about Sheikh Rab?ie?s health.

Sh Fawzi had bought a group of students over from Bahrain and had bought some medicines for Sheikh Rab?ie to take and was also explaining how to take the medicines.  Sheikh Rab?ie was asking how the dawah was in Bahrain and Sh Fawzi told Sheikh Rab?ie what the students were learning and how the dawah was getting strong by Allaah?s Grace and Mercy.

Sheikh Rab?ie advised the students to learn knowledge of the Sharee?ah as this was very important in this time and age.  He also said knowledge of the Science of hadith was very important.

The meeting was an opportunity to see how:

?     The scholars love each other for the sake of Allaah and are an example for others
?     How the students of knowledge bring their students to visit their Kibar Ulemah (major scholars) and this was something that both Sh Fawzi, Sh Anjari & Sh Falah Ismael (of Kuwait) all did when they visited the Kibar Ulemah (major scholars) in Riyadh

I am afraid that there may be points that I have missed as Sheikh Rab?ie?s voice was very quiet but it seems that by Allaah?s Grace and Mercy his health is better and the Salafees will rejoice and thank Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta`aalaa)  for this good news whilst Ahl ul-Bidah wa Hawa are the opposite.

Assalamu Alaikum

Akhee Safdar jazakallahu khayran for this update on Shaykh Rabee.
Definitely a sitting conferred only to those fortunate enough by Allah's permission to have witnessed it.
We ask Allah the Most High that He preserves the ulema of Ahlus-Sunnah and allows us to benefit from them.

We pray that Allah the most High blesses us with the continuation of Sh. Rabee's weekly lectures, as they have not resumed since they stopped before Hajj.

Today we attended at Shaykh Al-Banna's masjid. He has been reading through and explaining Kitaabul Fitan (The Book of Trials) from Saheeh Al-Bukhari (Shaykh Al-Albaanee's abridged version). He concluded it today and said that he will move onto Kitaab At-Tawheed (of Saheehul-Bukhari) next lesson inshallah.

Amongst the advice he gave was that in these times of trials and tribulations we should make efforts to increase in righteous actions, as none knows when any of us will meet death. He advised that we should take advantage of fasting, especially in this month (Muharram) as fasting in it is superior than every other month except Ramadan. He mentioned some very powerful hadeeths showing the special virtue of fasting over other acts of worship, like the hadeeth of Abu Umaamah Al-Baahilee (radiyallahu 'anhu) who said "O Messenger of Allah command me with an action that Allah will benefit me by" He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said "Take to fasting for there is no equivelent to it"(!)-Saheeh, reported by Ahmad (4/407), Nisaa'ee(4/474, Darul Ma'rifah) and others. See Saheehul-Jaami' no.4044
He also reminded us of the importance of good deeds in general and mentioned the hadeeth "your tongue should continue to be moist with the rememberance of Allah"
Subhanallah, his lesson was packed with points of benefit, much too much to mention.

He said that in the Jamiyyah days they used to go out to do exercise (something many of us, me included, are imbalanced in - either by giving it too much time or by totally ignoring it), and instead of counting their "reps" in numbers they would say "Subhanallah!Alhamdulillah Allahuakbar!" in order to use their time correctly! Allahu Akbar! Subhanallah!

All in all, a wonderful sitting, as it always is, packed packed packed with points of benefit.
Oh Allah raise us amongst the likes of these righteous servants, indeed You are the One Who responds.

Wassalamalykum wa rahmatullah

May Allaah reward the brothers for their updates, as we love to hear about our beloved elders, may Allaah preserve them.

Abu Muawiyah - "Definitely a sitting conferred only to those fortunate enough by Allah's permission to have witnessed it."  SAHEEH - as Nadeem said, so be thankful to Allaah!

Nadeem - "He said that in the Jamiyyah days they used to go out to do exercise (something many of us, me included, are imbalanced in - either by giving it too much time or by totally ignoring it), and instead of counting their "reps" in numbers they would say "Subhanallah!Alhamdulillah Allahuakbar!" in order to use their time correctly! Allahu Akbar! Subhanallah!"

Thats beautiful akhee, may Allaah reward you for conveying that! (Check your PM too)
