abu zeiad al athary:
This is what was dictated to me by the noble Shaykh Ubayd b. Abdullah Al-Jaabiree - Allah protect him, this evening, for the purpose of distribution on sahab.net and other Salafi forums.

I request the noble brothers to publish it on all the Salafi forums. Allah reward you well. The shaykh called this bayan:

"An Advice and Suggestion to those seeking Rectification" ..

Shaykh ?Ubayd b. Abdullah b. Sulayman Al-Jaabiree.

With the Name of Allah, Most Gracious Most Merciful.

It is impermissible for anyone to put himself forward to deal with critical issues and major events which occur from time to time except for those who are qualified to speak about such issues and events
We mean by ?qualified? those who have been granted knowledge and insight in the religion, those who are known for their sincerity towards the Ummah and for their precision in solving problems and difficult issues.

There have recently appeared on some websites articles and broadcasts by unqualified authors, many of whom are unknown. Such people trying to tackle major issues is far from the understanding and consideration [needed].
It only leaves the readers or listeners to speculate and busy themselves with things of no benefit.
Therefore, I suggest the following to our sons, the owners and administrators of the Salafi websites, for the purpose of saving time and out of concern for the benefit of all:

1. None but those known for knowledge, virtue and concern for the Ummah according to the Book, Sunnah and the understanding of the Salaf should write on your websites.

2- No anonymous article should be published in which at least the author?s three names are unknown and for whom no contact details are given. This is so that he can be contacted in case any problem arises.

It is preferred for authors to have a favourable reference (tazkeeyah) from one or more scholars or reliable, reputable students of knowledge. All this applies to men and women alike.

3- Emphasis must be given to spreading knowledge-based topics through which the reader or listener benefits: in aqeedah, worship, social interaction and other issues which people need to know about.

I pray Allah grants you and I success in doing what pleases Him, and that He makes us steadfast on the truth in this life and the Hereafter. Allah?s praise and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his Family and Companions.

?Ubayd b. Abdullah b. Sulayman Al-Jaabiree. Former Lecturer at the Islamic University (Medinah) 5th Dhull-Hijjah 1424H.

Umm Abdur Rahmaan Saleha bint Ahmed ibn Sulaimaan.
