الحمد لله والصلاة السلام على رسول الله وعلى آله وصحبه ومن اتبع هداه
أما بعد:
'Allaah raises in degrees from those who believe from amongst you and those who have been given knowledge in' al-mujaadalah-11.
1-al-allaamah ash-shaikh Muhammad bin saalih al-uthaymeen, may Allaah have mercy upon him, [his teacher] said;
all praise is to Allaah, to proceed; for the brother fawzee bin abdullaah is from the striving students and he has beneficial researches in the takhreej of some ahaadeeth. He regularly attends our lessons in the grand mosque [al-jaami al-kabeer] in unaizah. [dated 1/1/1414]
2-al-allaamah ash-shaikh saalih bin fawzaan al-fawzaan said in the introduction to shaikh fawzee?s book ?al-warad al-maqtoof fi wujoob ta?ah wullaat amr al-muslimeen bil-ma?roof?;
it is a good book? there is a need for the likes of it specially these days where ignorance has become widespread?for indeed clarifying the truth and refuting falsehood in this and every time is from the most important obligations and from the most important affairs?so may Allaah reward the author, the shaikh abu abdurahmaan fawzee al-atharee, the best of rewards, for his effort in clarifying the truth and refuting falsehood.
3-al-allaamah ash-shaikh rabee bin haadi al-madkhali was asked;
do you advise one to listen to shaikh fawzee al-atharee because we find people saying, he is extreme and is harsh/severe [has shiddah]?
shaikh rabee answered; ?he is from the ahl al-fadl from the callers to Allaah upon the salafi manhaj?and whoever says this is wrong.
4-al-allaamah ash-shaikh ahmed bin yahyaa an-najmee was asked;
what is your opinion of shaikh fawzee al-atharee and should we take knowledge from him?
shaikh ahmed answered; as for fawzee al-atharee his books show that he is a salafi. And the reports which reach us from trustworthy brothers show that he is salafi. For he is salafi, inshallaah. We do not say that he does not make mistakes, all of us make right judgements and mistakes.
5- al-allaamah ash-shaikh zaid bin Muhammad al-madkhali was asked;
what is your opinion of shaikh fawzee al-atharee?s manhaj, aqeedah and knowledge. Do you advise the youth from Bahrain to sit with him?
Shaikh zaid replied; firstly I have not met this man. However, I have heard good about him because he is from the callers to Allaah upon the salafi manhaj. He has some books and activity upon the salafi manhaj. Therefore, we indeed, advise the youth who are seeking knowledge to take from him?
6- al-allaamah ash-shaikh ubaid bin abdullaah al-jaabiree was asked;
what is your opinion of shaikh fawzee al-atharee and can we take knowledge from him?
shaikh ubaid replied; the brother fawzee is known to us till this time with the sunnah and he has done good and excellently with his efforts, which he should be thanked for. Up till now we nothing except good from him. as for making mistakes this can happen from him or anybody else. For we do not accept the mistake and we hold it to be true that he is a salafi and the mistake is replied with knowledge.
7- al-allaamah ash-shaikh falih bin naafi al-harbee was asked;
what do you say about fawzee al-atharee?
shaikh falih replied; shaikh fawzee, from what I know is one who loves the sunnah, in striving and giving importance?..
8- al-allaamah ash-shaikh saalih as-suhaymee said about shaikh fawzee?s book ?ad-dur al-muntaqa fi tabayyan hukam ifa?a al-liha? [about the beard];
?and from what our brother, shaikh fawzee bin abdullaah al-atharee has achieved is the excellent research titled ?ad-dur al-muntaqa fi tabayyan hukam ifa?a al-liha? I have read it and found it to be a beneficial treatise and every effort has been made in it to be a blessed work. he achieved correctess and preciseness; calrifying the manhaj.
these were some of the fourteen tazkiyaat from the book [37 pages]- ?tazkiyaat al-ulamaa wa al-mashaa?ikh li-fadilah ash-shaikh fawzee bin abdullaah bin Muhammad al-humaydee al-atharee?. The tazkiyaat were taken from a tape called ?difaa an fadeelah ash-shaikh fawzee bin abdullaah al-humaydee al-atharee? which is available from the imaam al-bukhaaree centre, qallaalee, Bahrain and it was recorded by maktabah wa tasjeelaat al-ghurabaa al-athariyyah, Bahrain, tel-673356.
I will write a list of his books for the salafi booklist file, inshallaah another time. I reviewed one of his books before.
