Assalamu Alaikum,
Does anybody know the 'proof' for the statemtent of Imam al-Barbaharee (RahimahUllah):
" If you see a man making supplication against a ruler know that he is a person of innovation..."
I quoted this statement to a brother, he then asked me what evidence this statement was based upon? I told him I will find out inshaAllah. So if there is anybody who knows what Hadith of ayah Imam Barbaharee based his statement, please post it.

Assalaamu Alaykum,
Akhi, the statement of Imaam al-Barbahaaree can be found in "Sharh-us-Sunnah", point number 136 (Page 85 of the english version published by 'al-hidaayah', translated by Abu Talha). The point is long, so i will just type up the bit that you mentioned akhi:

Jazzak Allahu Khair al-Khattakiy. Yes akhi I am aware that the statement can be found in 'sharh us sunnah', what I was asking is if you or any of the noble tulaab ul ilm knew from which Ayah or Hadith Imam al-Barbaharee (RahimahUllah)derived this statement from?
