A brother came to me at the Masjid and he needed to know about these certain individuals with authenticated proofs......

As for Nabeel al-Awadi, then he is an Ikhwaanee in Kuwait, famous (and dangerous) for his tapes of "heart moving admonishments", like his tape "A party in Paradise, a party in Hell" which is well-known in the West. He is the khateeb (and maybe Imaam as well) of a Ikhwaanee-controlled masjid here.
If the brother is referring to Ahmad al-Qahtaan that is in Kuwait, then he is a takfeeree who is also quite popular amongst the 'awwaam and Egyptians in Kuwait.
