A few months ago I issued a document wherein was contained, what I deemed were the root causes of many of my problems. In effect I laid bare my soul as a testimony, if you will, of my sincere resolve to leave off that which had distanced me from my Rabb and my beloved brothers.

Some received this stated intention in the spirit in which it was written and expressed their encouragement, others took a more cautious approach, waiting to see the fruits of my repentance before making any conciliatory moves. Both approaches I appreciated, respected and welcomed.

However a third group emerged, vehement in their opposition toward any form of resolution to my current problem, rejecting my repentance absolutely. The most fervent antagonists and the source of many distortions and lies upon me and my family have unfortunately been those who themselves only recently moved towards clarity. Rather than wish good for their brother it would appear that they are under the misconception that clarity is sought by standing on the necks of others rather than by genuine, sincere repentance for their own misdeeds. Most disturbing of all though is that they found an eager audience for their slander.

To those who constitute the third group I say beware lest the evil of your stated dismissal of my repentance be visited upon you,?A man said: By Allah, Allah will not forgive So-and-so. At this Allah the Almighty said: Who is he who swears by Me that I will not forgive So-and-so? Verily I have forgiven So-and-so and have nullified your [own good] deeds (or as he said [it]).?

You have your criticisms, fine, present them, let me deal with them. There has been a lot of kalaam about my time in Yemen and in truth I have no idea what people are saying. There is no need for secrets, if you really have something, bring it out in the open. Aid me in my repentance! I am asking you in all sincerity to desist with this gossip mongering as it benefits no one!

Based on a recent conversation with a number of sincere brothers, a number of(personal)issues have been resolved and there is a real hope that this step will aid us all in our moves toward rectification.
