wa 'alaykum us-salaam wa rahmatullaah,

regarding other books concerning the sciences of the qur'aan, there is also the book, how to understand the qur'aan by muhammad jameel zaynoo.  i have not read the book of yaasir al-qaadi, so i cannot say if it is more or less in depth.  i know that spubs used to sell the book of zaynoo and it is in their 2000 catalog, but i don't find it on the website, so you may ask them about it.  also, here is what sh. faalih al-harbee has said about the author:

quote:

this muhammad jameel zaynoo is not from amongst the scholars.  he is only a student of knowledge, and he is one who loves salafiyyah and the salafee manhaj, and he is with ahlus-sunnah.  however, he does not distinguish between the hizbee and the non-hizbee.  meaning, he receives everyone and does not distinguish between them.  he does not have knowledge of the various manaahij, nor does he have any criteria for them.
