I am requesting contact info for any Salafees or Salafee masajid in Toledo, OH. You can pm me or post the info here. There is a person from that area interested in Islaam and would like to have the benefit of meeting some Muslims and seeing what Islaam is all about. Jazak Allaah khair.

Also are there any Salafee brothers in the Detroit area? Detroit is fairly close and this guy mentioned that and he may also transfer to school there. I looked at the masajid in the Toledo area and these people are far astray. Out of the four masajid that I have seen from that area and the MSA, three masjids and the MSA are definitely upon misguidance. The former imam of their largest masjid was mentioning the characteristics of salaah and said basically that most of the salaah was just sunnah so it didn't matter if you did those actions...so much so that when a man asked him about where to place you hands during the standing...he put his hands behind his back and said you could put them there! La hawla wa la quwatta illa billaah. These masajid and MSA are also into the interfaith dialogue thing and they brought the Muslims together for a bloc vote for George Bush...they even link themselves to Shee'ah masjids. And its seems from what I have seen that these masajid and MSA are united together upon this way and work with each other upon these things. So I am very hesitant to send this guy to be among any of these people.
There is one other masjid in the area which I couldn't really find any info about, its called Masjid al-Haqq it is also refered to as the Muslim Center and the Islamic Center. It is not the same as the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo. Does anyone have any information about this masjid?

Salaam 'alaykum wa Rahmatullaah,
Alhumdulillaah, after getting in touch with the brother Abu Saad Mohamed Shabana, I was informed that there is a Salafee masjid in Toledo, OH named Masjid al-Qur'an wa-Sunnah. It's location is on Monroe St. between Auburn and Detroit. It is directly in front of Ramona's Resturant and between the Appliance Palace and furniture store.
The khateeb and the person leading the salaat there is related to Abu Uways Abdullah Ahmad. They have the Sunday telephone link to the scholars. Most of the brothers at the masjid say they are Salafis, and don't have any open objections to Salafi scholars. Some are in touch with Salafi
masajid around the US like in Atlanta with brother Aqil Walker (Masjid As-Salafu Saalih), in Jersey with brother Abdullah Ahmad (Masjid Rahmah), the brothers at TROID in Toronto as well as the brothers in Philadelpia (Dar al Hadeeth wal Althar), and also the brothers in Columbus, Ohio (Masjid as-Sahabah).
Also, due to the destruction that QSS has caused in the Detroit area, the brother is not aware of any clear Salafees in that area who have escaped the fitna of Abul Hasan al Misree. One brother was mentioned who studied with Shaykh Muqbil, but the brother Abu Saad is not aware of his condition, so if anyone has more information about Salafees in the Detroit area that information would be beneficial, inshaa'Allaah.
