As-Salaamu 'alaykum
Al-hamdulillaah, was-salaatu was-salaamu 'alaa rasoolillaah, wa ba'd:
It gives me great joy, and to Allaah is the praise, to convey some excellent news to the Salafees of New Jersey and elsewhere.
Our brothers in Islam, Umar and Hisham, former associates of Abu Muslimah, came to Makkah on an 'umrah trip. They visited a number of the Salafee mashaayikh here, and they were especially eager to sit with Shaykh Rabee' ibn Haadee Al-Madkhalee, may Allaah love him and grant him a long life.
So after attending two of the shaykh's open classes, they had a special sitting with the shaykh to seek his guidance about their repentance from remaining with Abu Muslimah. The shaykh advised them to repent to Allaah upon sincerity and to abandon Abu Muslimah, after telling them the whole story of when Abu Muslimah came to him. The shaykh mentioned how Abu Muslimah was caught in an open lie, that he denied having called the scholars of the kingdom Hambalee muqallids and not Salafees, and then the tape was brought and translated for the shaykh that had him saying exactly that. Then Abu Muslimah went on to affirm he said it, and furthermore even defended that position even after LYING! So the shaykh shamed him by reminding him of all the salafee books he studied from while he was here, books that teach ijtihaad not taqleed, like Nayl Al-Awtaar, Bidaayatul-Mujtahid, and others. The shaykh saw the clear signs of hizbiyyah and called him what he is - a hidden hizbee.
The shaykh said that some hizbiyyoon cleverly stay hidden and it takes 99 sittings to uncover their hizbiyyah; however, this guy was busted in just one quick sitting!
So the brothers heard all of this, and also what happened later with Abu Muslimah trying to get Shaykh Muqbil to save his name, and how that backfired on him.
They accepted the shaykh's advice and are implementing it in shaa' Allaah, and may Allaah help them both and all of us in repenting to Him.
The brothers, Umar and Hishaam, were delighted that the Shaykh Rabee' took the time to sit with them and hear their other questions as well. May Allaah reward the shaykh for his love and concern for this ummah, and may Allaah reward Umar and Hishaam for their efforts to seek correction.
After the sitting, I talked to Umar about his situation. He was extremely grateful to the shaykh for his time and efforts. He understood that the harshness that he faced from his brothers when he was with Abu Muslimah was something that had good in it, something that caused him to often re-think his position, something that ultimately led to his guidance. So, while his human side disliked the harsh dealings he faced from his brothers, he realizes the benefit of that. We ask Allaah to remove any bitterness that still exists between him and his salafee brothers, and to keep him firm upon salafiyyah.
So, Ahlas-Sunnah, know that your manhaj bears fruit. The hajr (boycotting), when done properly, has good effects on individuals and on the society, and this case is proof for that. May Allaah reward all the brothers who helped in pushing Umar and Hishaam in the right direction, and may Allaah reward them for their humbleness and seeking correction.
Lastly, I pray that our Salafee brothers will welcome them and continue to seek good for them and advise them. I hope that they will truly thank Allaah for the advice and assistance of their brothers who warned them against Abu Muslimah, and helped them to take the right position. I ask the brothers to welcome them and not put them to trial with questions like, "What took you so long?" or the likes. Help them to establish themselves firmly upon the manhaj as-salafee now and be their brothers, may Allaah grant them and all of us success.
I hope that Allaah benefits some of his servants by what I have written, wallaahu a'lam, wa sallallaahu 'alaa muhammadin wa 'alaa aalihi wa sahbihi ajma'een.

as-Salaamu alaykum ahkee Moosa-
Are you refering to the brother Umar who use to run the book store in East Orange, the real close friend of Aboo Muslimah? If so then this is indeed great news and even though I don't know the other brother Hisham I ask Allah to also give him the Tawfeeq and allow him and ahk Umar to love the Salafee's and for the Salafee's to love them.
