Assalaamu alaykum,

please someone enlighten as to when QSS started to get fractured!?

as far as i know a brother called muhammad mahmud('friday report magazine' guy) was in charge then muhammad jibaalee next aboo uwais and finally the mu'im brother who shaikh rabee warned against. what is the history of this group and why did the scholars attend the groups conference if they are fractured!?

subhaanakaAllaahumma wa bihamdika ashadu......

There was never anyone in charge of QSS named Muhammad Mahmood, but rather his name is Mahmood Muraad. He has never worked for "The Friday Report/Jumu'ah magazine" to best of my knowledge and I have been knowing him since about 1983/84.

He was the first chairman/president of QSS in the early to mid 80's, then came Muhammad al-Jibaalee. As for Aboo Uwais Abdullaah Ahmad Alee, then he was never in any official capacity at QSS, but rather on the board 'working' with regards to conferences, lectures etc.

Then came Abdul Mun'im.

As for scholars attending the conference, then there were no scholars that attended it.

And Allaah knows best.
