Assalamu Alaikum
This post is on behalf of a sister.
A sister is in urgent need of naseeha.  Her problem is that she knows that Quran and Sunnah is the correct way, now she is reading the Quran and trying to understand it and reading the hadeeth and learning it(all in English).  Whenever she tries to read the Quran or read the authentic sunnah's severe doubts keep coming to her brain.  She tells that she keeps on fighting the doubts. Now she tells us that she is physically and mentally tired of fighting the doubts that keep arising only when she tries to study the Quran and Hadeeth.  She says that sometimes she feels that since she is under so much mental strain that she feels like letting go and be misguided.  The sister has requested me some answers to this phenomna.  As I have no certain knowledge in this matter, I ask my brothers and sisters to help this sister out.

Asalamu Alaykum wa Ramatullahee wa Barakatuhu,

Say this du'a three times when these doubts come to your mind Inshaa'ALLAH this will help:  Radhatoo billahee ruban bil islamee deenan wa be mohammadan(sallalahu alayhee wa salaam) nabeeyan

This means,  I am pleased with ALLAH as my RUB, Islam as my deen and Muhammed(salalahu alayhee wa salaam) as my Prophet.

Let the sister know that definately Shaytan is playing a role in discourging her and whispering these obscene thoughts into her mind. I ask ALLAH Azza wa jall that HE helps her ward off these doubts.  Ameen.  I don't have the reference off hand for this du'a but you can check in Hussinal Muslim,  Inshaa'ALLAHu Ta'ala it will be there.

Was Salaam

Akhook Fil Islaam

Abu Abdurrahman as Salafee al Kanadi

P.S.  Remember du'a and thikr is most beneficial all the time,  as ALLAH is the only ONE to call upon, Alhumdulillah

Bismillahirrahmaanirraheem!

Assalaamuaalaikum wa rahmathullahi wa barakaathuhu!

All Praise is due to Allah the Rabb of aalameein. May peace and prayers be upon our noble Messenger (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam ) his family and his companions and all those who follow him till the Day that none can avert is established.

To proceed the best speech is the speech of Allah and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam ) and the worst of all affairs are those that are newly invented.

Allah (Sub'haanahu wa ta'ala) says in the Qur'aan in Surath An-Nahl :Surah 16 Aayah 98

'So when you want to recite the Qur'aan seek refuge with Allah from Shaitan the outcast.'

My advice to this sister is to try and understand the Qur'an and the hadeeth under the guidance of a scholar or a trusworthy student of knowledge and clear the doubts from those who have been given knowledge.

Said Shaikh Al Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah):
When you do not get any help from the Qur'ān or the Sunnah, turn to the words of the companions. For they know the Qur'ān better: they have witnessed its revelation, and passed through the situations in which it was revealed: and know it and understand it fully. This is particularly true of the scholars and leaders such as the four righteous caliphs and cAbdullāh ibn Mas'ūd. Imām Abū Jacfar Muhammad ibn Jarīr at-Tabarī reports: Abū Kurayb narrated to us, saying: Jābir ibn Nūh informed us that: al-A`mash informed us from Abū Duhā: from Masrūq that cAbdullāh ibn Mas'ūd said: "By the one besides whom there none having the right to be worshipped, there is no verse in the Qur'ān about which I do not know in whose case and at what place was it revealed. If I were aware that anyone knew the Qur'ān more than me, and I could reach him, I would certainly have gone to see him." [Ibn al-Athīr, Jāmic al-Usūl fī Ahādīth ar-Rasūl, 1392/1972, Vol. IX p. 48.]

Al-A`mash has also reported through Abū Wā`il that Ibn Mas'ūd said: "When anyone of us learned ten verses of the Qur'ān, he did not proceed further unless he had known what they meant and what action they demanded." [Taken from Usool ut Tafseer by Ibn Taymiyyah ].

Anything good is from Allah and all mistakes are mine. Its a praiseworthy quality to correct your brother.

Our da?wah and our ?aqeedah is more beloved to us than our own selves, our wealth and our offspring.  So we are not prepared to part with it for gold, nor silver.  We say this so that no one may have hope in buying out our da?wah, nor should he think that  it is possible for him to purchase it from us for deenaar or dirham. Since the politicians already know this about us, so they have despaired of buying it from us with granted positions or wealth..Shaikh, the Allamah, Muqbil ibn Hadee Al Waa'di'ee (Rahimahullah).
