Assalaamu-alaikum,

I have a question regarding the animals. What happens to them when they die and what will happen to them on the day of judgement? Will they enter jannah along with their owners (Insha-Allah if their owners are amongst those whom Allah has mercy on)? I know many Salafi bros including myself who have cats and absolutely adore them. A brother at work said to me that he read some where that animals will have no accountability (which I know about) but another thing he said was that all the animals will be destroyed on the day of judgement, meaning that they will cease to exist and therefore not be amongst their owners who enter jannah. This I didn't know about and considering that I am a brother who is strong mentally and physically Insha-Allah by Allah's (Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala) barakah, it shattered me upon hearing this. Can anyone shed further light on this with proofs or even the saying of the scholars?

Ibn Umar (d. 84H) said: "Every innovation is misguidance, even if the people see it as something good." Reported by Abu Shaamah (no. 39)

Sufyaan ath-Thawree (d. 161H) said:"Innovation is more beloved to Iblees than sin, since a sin may be repented from

Wa 'alaykumussalaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

I would like to start by mentioning that on the Day of Judgment no creature will be dealt with unjustly, and that the actions and judgment of Allaah are perfect and in accordance with His all-encompassing knowledge and wisdom.

With regards to what will occur to the animal kingdom on the day of Judgment, refer to the following article:

The Tafseer of Soorah an-Nabaa`(78)
By Dr. Saalih as-Saalih (rahimahullaah)
http://www.troid.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=220&Itemid=383

Here are some relevant quotes from the article:

quote:

40 - "Verily! We have warned you of near Tormet, the Day when man will see that (the deeds) which his hands have sent forth and the disbeliever will say: 'Woe to me! Would that I were dust!"

Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta 'alaa) says in other ayah:

"And they will find all that they did, placed before them, and your Rabb treats no one with injustice." [Surah al-Kahf (18) Ayat 49]

"On that Day man will be informed what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions)." [Surah al-Qiyaamah (75) Ayat 13]

On that Day, the disbeliever wishes that he was mere dust in this worldly life and that he was not even created. This is when he sees the torment that Allaah had prepared for him and when he examines his deeds written and recorded by the angels. It is explained also that he wishes to be a mere dust when Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta 'alaa) judges between the animal creation. There when Allaah (subhaanahu wa ta 'alaa) will make judgement for the hornless sheep against the horned sheep. After which He (subhaanahu wa ta 'alaa) will order the animals to be dust and it changes to dust. When this happens, the disbeliever wishes he was dust (i.e. he was an animal)!

The meaning of this latter explanation was related in a Hadeeth by the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam): "The claimants would get their claims on the Day of Resurrection so much so that the hornless sheep would get its claim from the horned sheep."
