Assalaam alaikum.
I know islaamicaly if your mother never married your father that your considered an orphan and have no responsibility to this man. Now my question is this. Is this only islaamic marriage or does the marriage ceremonies of the kuffar count?
My "parents" lead a marriage based off mentally thinking they were married and verbally pronouncing they were to others but no religious or civili ceremony was perfomed. Would such a "marriage" count or not?
