Is there a difference between doing righteous deeds and just good deeds in general, or are they the same?

Wa alaykumussalaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh,

What has been mentioned about there being a difference between "righteous deeds" and "good deeds" appears to be one of the "English language time wasters" that have no basis in the religion.

Any action done sincerely for Allaah alone and in accordance with the Sunnah of His Messenger, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is a righteous good deed.
