As salaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh ya ikhwaan wa akhwaat,

Shaykh Muhammad Amaan al-Jaami rahimahullaah advises in "The Structure of The Muslim Family" (translated by brother Hasan As-Somali hafithahullaah)pg 31.

"It is upon the intelligent Muslim woman to study her religion to allow her to truly grasp the position of Islam towards the woman and the dignified position Islam has given her. Additionally, she should not pay attention to every imbecile that makes unfounded claims.

At the same time, she should examine some of the foreign constitutions, like the French constitution, to truly understand the position that these constitutions have towards the women." End quote.

Is anyone aware of some of the provisions of the French Constitution that are against women's rights?

It would inshAllaah be good if one of our French brothers and sisters can give some examples of the oppressive French laws which can be used to further refute the claims of the feminists & Disbelievers.

JazakAllaahu feekum,
wa salaamu alaykum,

Sajid Chauhan

Career women work longer than men

LONDON: A few generations ago, there was no reason for women to seek a career - they were expected to find satisfaction staying at home and looking after their kids and other family members only.

But in today's world, women go to work and come back home only to do the bulk of household chores. And, if British researchers are to be believed, career women actually end up working longer hours than men.

According to the researchers at Cambridge University, while men may spend longer at the office, it is the women who work more each week if domestic and paid employment is added together, The Daily Telegraph reported on Thursday. "The average man in full-time employment works about 55 hours a week.

In the United Kingdom, that figure includes about 3.6 hours commuting, and eight hours of domestic work such as cleaning, cooking and child care. "By contrast, the average working week for a woman in full-time employment in the European Union is 68 hours.

For British women, it comprises 40 hours in the office, 3.3 hours commuting and 23 hours a week spent doing domestic work.

"But even women who work part time put in longer hours overall than men in full-time work, because they do so many household chores. Women with part-time jobs work on average 57 hours a week. That is made up of 21.3 hours in paid work, 2.4 hours commuting and 32.7 hours of domestic work," according to the British researchers.

Isn't the West guilty of exploiting women in the name of 'liberation'?
