Shaykh Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) said: The best time to perform 'Umrah is during the month of Ramadhaan. This is due to the Prophet's (salallaahu 'alaihi wassallam) statement: "An 'Umrah in Ramadhaan is equal to a Hajj." The authenticity of this hadeeth is agreed upon and in another narration in Al-Bukhaaree, the wording is: "Is equivalent to Hajj performed with me."

Starting right from the checking-in at Heathrow airport where one was surrounded by fellow Salafis, to an airplane almost the entirely full with fellow Salafis!
The Umrah was amazing. And what made the stay so much nicer and more comfortable (thereby making worship, and attending of the duroos easier) were the excellent hotels we stayed in. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, and were cleaned every morning ? sheets changed, fresh towels etc. Included was a suprise buffet breakfast each morning which was really nice ? the chef making eggs any way one liked!
One of the nicest things was the atmosphere amongst the Salafis. It was really nice to bump into fellow Salafis in the lifts, in the hotel lobby, outside in the shops, and in the Masjid ? indeed I bumped into someone I knew who wasn?t on the trip whilst making tawaf around the ka'ba ? what a small world!
And masha'Allah everyone was in a good mood, helpful, and just happy to be sharing such a wonderful experience with each other.
The brothers who were guiding the tour were very helpful and available at all times masha'Allah ? they allowed the sisters to attend the funfair for sisters only (waiting outside whilst we were having fun!).The brothers had a chance to go into the mountains where they had a barbeque and went quad biking!
Another beautiful experience was the guided tour to a local book shop where the brother advised us on what books to buy for a beginning student of knowledge ? with a mini lecture on how to determine the best books of all, for a person to have as they build their library ? very informative!
There was also an excursion for both brothers and sisters to have the 'hijama' (blood cupping from the Sunnah) which was also a very beneficial experience, masha'Allah.
However the BEST thing of all was being able to be so close to one of the major scholars, Shaykh Ubayd (hafidhahullah). One often hears of brothers going to meet with this scholar or that. But as a sister I never imagined that I would ever have the chance. But masha'Allah we sat in the same conference room with shakh for eight days, feeling the blessings of the gathering and experiencing the awe of his precious words with regards the Deen of Allaah.
And then on the final day of our stay in Madinah the sisters had their very own special session with Shaykh Ubayd. It was a truly special moment, and the Shaykh was so nice, always referring to us as 'O my daughters'. He was very nice to us, and gave us good naseehah, leaving no question unanswered. He even introduced us to his daughter who was with him ? and he met with some of the small children (stroking their heads and making du'a for them).
I have been on umrahs before and whilst they were all special in their own way, there's no doubt about it when Five Pillars say its an 'Umrah with the a difference' ? for sure it was an Umrah with a difference! Can't wait till the next one?"
