Maa shaa Allaah alaikum ikwatuna - our brothers at Maktabatus Salafiyyah Birmingham UK.
Three of our mashaayaikh in person! Allaahu Akbar!

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, the Prophet sallallaahu alaihi wa sallam said
"Whoever does not thank the people has not thanked Allaah"

Hadeeth Saheeh Imam Ahmad, Abu Daawood and at-Tirmidhee.

I would like to thank you, and thank you on behalf of all the brothers that asked me to thank you, for your organisation of such a beneficial Dawrah 'ilmiyyah, brothers that travelled from all over the UK, France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Sweden and many other parts of Europe; I even met a brother from Turkey, brothers from the USA - who came to benefit from our beloved Scholars - Shaikh Falaah ibn Ismaaeel Al-Mandikar (Kuwait), Shaikh Muhammad ibn Ramzan  Al-Haajiree (K.S.A) and Shaikh Ahmad As-Subay'ee (Kuwait). May Allaah reward them and you all with good. Aameen.

Maa shaa Allaah, not only were there Scholars present but there were Tele-Links with our elder esteemed Scholars too: Shaikh Ubaid ibn Abdillaah Al-Jaabiree (KSA,) Shaikh Saalih As-Suhaymee (KSA) and Shaikh Muhammad bin Haadi (KSA) - mumtaaz!

The conference began with Shaikh Muhammad bin Ramzan delivering the Jumu'ah khutbah which revolved around the Hadeeth of Abu Hurairah "Allaah loves for you three things and hates for you three things" in Saheeh Muslim - the masjid was so full, there were brothers praying in the marquees and in the car park. It was not possible to enumerate the number of attendees for Jumu'ah.

During the Dawrah he also covered and completed the Book of Siyaam (fasting) from 'Umdatul Ahkaam of Imaam Al-Maqdasee. He also delivered two lectures, the first regarding the hadeeth "Islaam began as something strange and will return just as it began." A beautiful quote from the Shaikh that stuck in our minds was: "O you strange one, in a time of strangeness, do not come with anything strange!" - Allaahu Akbar! His other lecture was regarding Adab & Akhlaaq where he had the crowd close to tears if not crying.

Shaikh Falaah ibn Ismaa'eel based his lectures and advice on the title of the conference which was again based on the Hadeeth "Islaam began as something strange and will return just as it began." He was deeply touched and affected with the verses and narrations he was quoting, close to tears but holding his composure. Whilst contemplating on his words and advice he was relaying from the Book and the Sunnah made it difficult to hold back the tears. He truly had the audience subdued, maa shaa Allaah.

Shaikh Ahmad As-Subay'ee's lectures revolved around dealing with the Principles and Issues connected to the Salafi Methodology. The Shaikh, who is well versed in this field, clarified many issues and points to an attentive audience crammed into the Masjid. From after Maghrib up until the early hours of the morning, students sat alert jotting down their notes. Afterwards our Shaikh made time for the crowds of brothers waiting to ask questions and benefit from the answers by which time it was very close to Fajr.

Our father and elder, Shaikh Ubaid ibn Abdillaah Al-Jaabiree covered issues related to and pertaining to Ramadhaan; extremely beneficial and appropriate with only a few days left for the month of Ramadhaan  to begin. Clarifying the rulings and regulations of fasting connected to this sacred month in light of the Qur'aan and Sunnah.

Shaikh Muhammad bin Haadi's lecture was entitled 'Characteristics of the Strangers'
Our Shaikh, may Allaah preserve him, clearly outlined who are the strangers and what their attributes and characteristics are. As I glanced around the masjid I could see brothers had jam packed the lecture with pen to pads, sweat dripping from their foreheads. Our brother Abu Hakeem Bilaal was translating and conveying our beloved Shaikh's words.

Shaikh Saalih As-Suhaymee entitled his lecture 'Unity Upon What?'
This was a lecture packed with nusoos (texts), Ayah after Ayah, Hadeeth after Hadeeth rolling off the Shaikhs tongue. A lecture full of texts from the Book and texts from the Sunnah. Clarifying the importance of unity of the Ummah, unity upon the haqq and the obligation of it and not diverging and splitting away from the main body of Muslims.

During Shaykh Muhammad ibn Ramzaan's lectures, prizes and gifts of books and CDs from the Salafi Bookstore were handed to those who had summarised the Shaikh's lessons, and to those who had showed the zeal to seek and attain knowledge and also answer questions.

This blessed Dawrah 'ilmiyyah which was held over a mere weekend was full to the brim with Scholarly Knowledge, Advice, Counsel, Admonition and Reminders, but it sadly had to come to an end. May Allaah enable us to benefit from our Scholars again, Aameen.

Jazaakumullaahu khair to everyone that was involved and helped to make this conference such a huge success; those brothers that translated the lectures and from those brothers and sisters who helped with security inside and outside the Masjid, those who helped with the food, the caretakers, brothers on the paltalk, cleaning the Masjid and the School (where the sisters were), and to the brothers who volunteered and swept the whole street; pavements and road, top to bottom.

Also to those who attended to seek knowledge and benefit themselves and their families for their patience when at times the Masjid was bursting at its seams. No doubt your reward lies with Allaah and everyone will have what they intended.

Abu 'Abdillaah Ozan ibn Bedir
