Assalamu alaykum! Does anyone know in which order where the surahs revealed with proof please? And also why are they written down in a different order now, also with proof please? Thank you. Assalamu alaykum!
recently i bought a book about quran sciences and found a whole chapter about your question and it is in arabic so you may find a translator on the web or in your city who can help ( then i wrote the meaning of what is written in Arabic) اسم الكتاب :مذكرة في علوم القران المؤلف : ابراهيم بن محمد القادمي مدرس القران و علومه دار الحديث بمعبر الناشر :دار عمر بن الخطاب بمصر some parts of it: ذهب الجمهور من أهل العلم الى أن ترتيب السور حصل باجتهاد من الصحابة منهم مالك و القاضي أبو بكر في أحد قوليه و استقر عليه و شيخ الاسلام بن تيمية و ابن كثير و ابن عثيمين و غيرهم
و قال شيخ الاسلام بن تيمية و القران في زمانه لم يكتب و لا كان ترتيب السور على هذا الوجه أمرا واجبا مأمورا به عند الله بل الأمر مفوض في ذلك الى اختيار المسلمين و لهذا كان لجماعة من الصحابة لكل منهم اصطلاح في ترتيب سوره غير مصطلح الأخر
so there was not a definite order for the quran . sahaba had different orders some of them make the quran order like the order of its revelation so it starts with iqra then makki surahs and then madani surahs and the mushaf of ibn masud begins with baqarah then al nisa' then al imran
Allah left the order of the quran to the sahaba .unlike that is the ayat of each surah ,its order is from allah so you cant read it with a different order. and there are some ahkam (in fiqh)which result from that which is weather to read in praying with the order of the Quran's surahs or no also in reading out of the salat and memorizing the quran with its ordr or no

As-salamu alaykum! Thank you dear brother for your beneficial answer and for advising me on the book, I did not know that they are more than two different orders. I should have written that I know about the Makkan surahs being before the Madinan, because I wanted to know a more specific order of revelation of the Makkan surahs and the Madinan surahs. Do you know where I can find more information regarding the order of Surahs in Salah, and Salah in general? I am in much confusion regarding these matters. Thank you. As-salamu alaykum!
