As salamu alaikum
There is a man by the name of Anwar Al-Awaaliki he has a series of talks about the hereafter and the stories of the prophets. Does anyone have any proof regarding his Manhaj? I see many people and some Salafis listening to his tapes and quoting from them. Baarakallahu feekum.

Some people from my area e-mailed Anwar Al-Awlakee and he said:
Assalamu alaykum Br __________,
I havent studied under Sh Zindani. However I have a very good relationship with him which I still maintain up to this moment. I have studied under Shuyookh from Ikhwan and Shuyookh from the different groups that call themselves Salafis. That doesnt mean that I would necessarily accept everything they say and buy into everything they do. No one is infallible except Muhammad saaws. I follow the manhaj of Ibn al Qayim who said: Take from every garden the best flower
I love the awlya of Allah and I despise the enemies of Allah. I am a friend to the ones who fight to raise the banner of Islam and I am an enemy to the ones who wear the cloak of Islam over hearts that love the kuffar.
And yes, I am a salafi - in the sense of following the way of the early generations.

As-Salaamu AlaiKum,
So in brief, is there a summary of what Anwar Al Awlaki is upon?
I find on the internet that he has been released from prison a week ago (end of December 2007).
Anyone know what he was in for?
And I realise that his release is being promoted by people who are clearly NOT salafi (many who attack the Scholars and some are hyper-Jihadi-type people).
Is there a summary of what Anwar Al Awlaki is upon?

I came across the following statement attributed to az-Zindani and recalled the aforementioned letter of al-Awlaki.
