Regarding the last lecture, Sharh Masaa'il il-Jaahiliyyah, you mentioned that the brother will be using the explanation of Saalih al-Fawzaan. Are you referring to his taped lectures or is there a published explanation of which I am unaware? If so, please mention some of the details of the publication, for indeed, published explanations of this great work are apparently very rare. I only know of the explanation of Shaykh Mahmood Shukree al-Aaloosee, may Allaah have mercy on him. May Allaah reward you.

al-Hamdu-Lillaahi Rabbil-'Aalameen was-Salaatu was-Salaamu 'alaa Ashrafil-Anbiyaa wal-Mursaleen, wa ba'd: Yes, there is an available Sharh of Masaa'il il-Jaahiliyyah by Shaykh Saaleh al-Fawzaan. It consists of one volume of around 334 pages and it is widely available here in Riyadh and probably other places in the Kingdom. The publishers are Dar al-Aasima of Riyadh. This book is currently being translated by our brother Abid bin Basheer and will soon be available on www.salafipublications.com website and will then later be published as a book Inshallaah. The following is the Shaykh's introduction of this very beneficial Sharh;
| quote: |
"I used to deliver lectures in the masjid of 'Sharh Masaailul-jaahiliyyah' which were mentioned by sheikh ul-Islaam, the Reviver, sheikh Muhammad bin Abdul-wahhaab (may Allaah have mercy upon him). In his brief treatise, and some of the students (may Allaah grant them success) would record these lessons on tape, and some of the (may Allaah reward them) set out to transcribe these lectures in written form and presented them to me. So when I read it, I approved it's publication and distribution, due to the general benefit it contains, despite the fact that I believed that the explanation was deficient and somewhat imperfect. But as they say: 'something is better than nothing; And I request that whoever reads this sharh and notices mistakes in it, to inform me so that they can be rectified. May Allaah grant us all beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds, and peace and blessings be upon our prophet Mohammed. (may peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)." The author (Shaykh Saaleh bin Fawzan bin Abdullaah al-Fawzaan) |
