Assalamu Alaikum Brother Yusuf

Jazak Allah Khair for the beneficial posts.

I'm interested in purchasing the book titled 'Kitaab al Eemaan' by Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah). Do you have the English translation of this book and if so, where did you purchase it from? Also is it a worthwhile purchase in terms of authenticity and clarity?

More tadlees.

Ibn Khalid asks Yusuf Adam:

quote:
Assalamu Alaikum Brother Yusuf

Jazak Allah Khair for the beneficial posts.

I'm interested in purchasing the book titled 'Kitaab al Eemaan' by Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullah). Do you have the English translation of this book and if so, where did you purchase it from? Also is it a worthwhile purchase in terms of authenticity and clarity?

Yusuf Adam replies by pointing out a dodgy translation and printing of Kitab ul-Iman. He warns against this translation. But never once does he point out the translation published by Iman Publishing House, Bloomington, Indiana, 1999, translated by Salman al-Ani and Shadia Tel. This is the one that he has been using all along, never ever giving page refererences or mentioning this book.

In the latest post in this thread, he quotes a passage which is found on page 82-83 of the translation by al-Ani and Tel.

quote:
Commenting on this Ayah, Ash Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah(rahimahullah) said in Kitaab ul Eemaan(Maktabah Islaami, Dimashq,  2nd edition):

?Those who take their priests/rabbis and monks as their lords, wherein they(these priests/rabbis) make Halaal(legally permissible) what Allah has prohibited and the make Haraam (legally  prohibited) what Allah has made Halaal, SUCH PEOPLE ARE OF TWO GROUPS: the first group knows('arafu) that they have changed(baddaloo) the religion of Allah and (intentionally) followed them. Thus, they believe(?itaqidu) in making the Halaal what Allah has prohibited and prohibiting what Allah has made permissible(Halaal) as part of following their leaders, though they know('arafu) they have contradicted the way of the Messenger(sallallahu alayhi was salaam). This is indeed (major) disbelief, and Allah and His Messenger considered it to be (major) Shirk even though they did not pray or prostrate to them.

He who follows other than Him(Allah), contrary to the Deen, KNOWING('arafu) for a fact that it is contrary to the Deen and BELIEVING(?itaqidan) in what he has said in derogation of what Allah and his Messenger have said, is certainly called a MUSHRIK(polytheist).

THE OTHER GROUP also has a strong resolution/intention to legally prohibit the Halaal and make legally permissible the Haraam BUT they obey their priests/rabbis and monks OUT OF FISQ(rebellion/disobedience) to Allah EXACTLY LIKE A MUSLIM who disobeys Allah even though he knows that he is disobeying Allah. Accordingly THIS GROUP WILL BE TREATED AS SINNERS
(i.e still Muslim..!), as indicated in the hadeeth of the Prophet(sallallahu alayhi was salaam),?Indeed, obedience should be in that which is good.?

His post above is actually taken from this particular translation, but what he has done is to make his own amendments, inserting what he thinks is the corresponding arabic. And then he references this to Kitab ul-Iman of Maktaba,Islami, Dimashq 2nd edition. This is a lie due to the following points:

In his quote he inserts "('arafu)" on three occasions into his slightly modified copy and paste from al-Ani and Tel's translation, claiming that "knows" and "know" in the original arabic is in the term "arafu".

If you refer back to Kitab ul-Iman, you find that in the first instance the word "an ya'lamoo" is used and in the second instance the word "ma'a ilmihim" and in the third instance "ma'a 'ilmihi", so in all three instances Yusuf Adam is lying upon Ibn Taimiyah, by claiming he uses the word "arafu" when the reality is completely otherwise.

Then also Yusuf Adam claims that Ibn Taymiyah uses the word "fisq" when he speaks about the second category of people who obey the priests and rabbis, and when you return back to the original, you find that Ibn Taimiyah actually says "laakinnahum ataa'oohum fee ma'siyatillaah", so he uses the word "ma'siyah" and not "fisq".

This proves that Yusuf Adam does not have the Arabic book and is modifiying the translation of al-Ani and Tel, to make it appear as his own, then posting it here, without reference to the book he is using, and even when asked about the source of this Kitab ul-Iman he avoids the subject altogether. And then using the translation of al-Ani and Tel (without revealing this) he then starts inserting arabic terms into the translation, for the reason that he wants the readers to think that he is accessing the actual original Arabic, when he most likely, as the evidence strongly indicates, does not even have it to begin with.

I humbly ask the Admin to limit the posts of this individual as he comes across as "presenting himself with knowledge" to the people, when he is not worthy of it at all. He is lying upon the people of knowledge, making tahrif of their words, pretending to be someone of knowledge, and making tasaddur.

I am not sure whether the last post by yusuf adam contains sarcasm or it is an attempt by him to belittle this matter.
My only advice is to fear Allah, and stop pretending. There are many people who have seen and experienced this trait from yusuf adam.

Assalaamu'alaykum wa rahmatullaah

In reference to the above statement,

"Some of the muffassireen(interpreters) of the Qur'aan believe "wrongdoer's companions" refers to those who provide ANY KIND of help to the wrongdoers, EVEN IF HE GIVES THEM AN INK POT OR SHARPENS A PENCIL FOR THEM."

So how much MORE so if we give them our money and buy their books and help them to spread their baatil...???

SO in conclusion, if it is published by Al Firdous DONT BUY IT..!

(Same goes for al BasheerPublications in Boulder, who publish Zarabozo's ta'aan(attacks) on Imaam Al Albaani, and TAHA in London who publish the books of the Raafidah and Sufi's....!)..."

Is this from the brother's own fahm of the tafseer of the ayah?  Have any of the ulamaa spoken regarding this issue?  I ask this as there are several translations in circulation published by the people of desires, for example The Prophet's Prayer Described....by Allaamah Al Albaanee.  Is it forbidden to buy these books as it means giving money to these publishers?

BarakAllaahu feekum,

Wassalaamu'alaykum wa rahmatullaah

The knowledge of this individual and what he quotes, claims or narrates is not to be trusted or relied upon and also his understanding of what he sometimes presents is suspect. This has occurred a number of times on this forum. My advice is not to even read his posts and I ask the admin to remove his posts and only allow him to ask questions.

Jazaak Allaahu khayran yaa akhee Sunnah!  Indeed we have a serious deceiver on our hands!  Notice the times I mention below:

1 ---- 12-9-02 @ 3:10 PM, Yusuf Aadam posts:

"Commenting on this Ayah, Ash Shaykh ul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah(rahimahullah) said in Kitaab ul Eemaan(Maktabah Islaami, Dimashq,  2nd edition):

2 ---- 12-10-02 @ 5:43 PM Sunnah quotes him and shows his deception the following day, showing the assumed arabic words, exposing the fraudulent use of 'arabic  that we would have innocently understood were the original arabic...

3 ---- This message was edited by yusuf.adam on 12-11-02 @ 12:00 AM Yusuf changes all his inserted arabic words to the correct ones, based on Sunnah's corrections.  He then, after being exposed as a fraud, posts an immature and obviously sarcastic remoark: "It increases my love of the Deen when I see brothers helping each other and advising each other in such a beautiful way."

His affair is clear.  We advise him to fear Allaah in how he uses the internet.  We advise him to fear Allaah and not seek to be known as a translator or conveyor of knowledge, rather he should benefit from the internet himself, learning the salafee 'aqeedah, manhaj, 'arabic language, etc. from the trusted salafee websites.  He and all of us must be humble and not abuse this ni'mah (the internet).  And the rest of us should be warned about him and keep away from him and warn others about him, until he repents and makes these affairs clear, and changed his ways.  May Allaah help him to make this sincere tawbah, and may Allaah help us all to repent to Allaah.

It would be helpful also if the administration would post all information about him that they have from his registration, so we can know exactly who is is, from where, other screen names or email addresses, etc.  I believe this should be done whenever someone causes fitnah so we can identify the source of the fitnah and be properly warned, and Allaah knows best.

as-salaam alaykum,

From what I know about the brother is all good, I have never personally known him to speak ill of the scholars, and doesn't deviate from the Jamaa'a.

As the previous brother mentioned he lives in London UK comes originally from Trinidad (I think) and indeed uses the paltalk user name abi hanaan.  The brother is Masha Allaah very active in dawah and occassionally gives the juma'a Khutbah in Cranford Masjid-as-sunnah.

I'm sure the brother only intends khair and may Allaah reward us all as to our intentions.

Jazaak Allaahu khayran for the info akhee Ali!

And, Abu Buthaina, baarak Allaahu feekum, I believe as you do, that the brother intended good, but we are to interact with the people based on their statements and actions, and Allaah will deal with their intentions.  And I have not noticed any deviation in him either, however the clear deception we found in him is a serious indication that, if we do not advise our brother, and allow him to humble himself, and worship Allaah with the tawbah that is upon him, and be honest and clear in his future dealings, then he is headed for danger.  And we need to protect our own selves from that potential danger until we see a change in him.  May Allaah correct his affair, and guide him to His Pleasure.

as-salaam alaykum,

I received this PM from akh Yusuf.adam and with his permission I am copying it here:

[due to repeat requests this section has been removed]

So in summary,

1. I acknowledge my errors and OPENLY repent from them (despite the efforts of others to HIDE it from the people).
2. I do NOT intend to portray myself as a student of knowledge and if this is the impression that I have made by my actions then I seek refuge from Allah from such a futile pretence.
3. I am NOT a student of knowledge or a translator and have NEVER claimed to be.
4. I acknowledge my faults and OPENLY repent from them.
5. I hope this clarification/Naseehah is spread to every Muslim.
6. I request Salafitalk to delete all my previous posts.

If this Bayaan needs to be added to or revised then please advise me and or if there are any further errors that need to be clarified or other issues then we can bring them Insha?Allah and supplement this Bayaan with them until NOTHING is left unclear/unspoken about, the first of my affair and the last of my affair.

Was salaam

Yusuf Adam

Subhaanak Allahumma wa bi Hamdika, Ash Shahadu an Laa ilaaha ilaa anta, Astaghfiruka wa atooboo ilayka.
