In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent Most Merciful,
The Remedy for Fear and Confusion when leading the Prayer and/or delivering the Friday Sermon by the Sheikh Yahya bin 'Alee al-Haajoori -may Allah preserve him- [Reference below]:
Question: What is the remedy for having fear and becoming confused when leading the prayer and delivering the Friday Sermon?
Answer: The remedy for that is precision. Therefore do not lead the prayer except with what you have perfected and it's recitation is easy upon.
The same goes with the sermon. Do not deliver a sermon except that you are proficient in what you're going to speak about and it is not a hardship upon you (to do so).
Thus, if you do become afraid or nervous in the beginning your precision and memory will assist you -bi ithnillah-. On the contrary if your memory is doubtful and shaky with the fact that it is your first time being the Imaam (of the prayer) or publicly speaking then this is from those affairs that will hinder you and cause the fear to overpower and sieze you.
Also you should be continuous (in these affairs) so you can get used to doing them and the matter will become easy for you.
Furthermore, strengthen yourself with Ikhlaas (Sincerity) for Allah the Most High. And know! That the people can not benefit nor harm you except that Allah wills that for you.
