The Saheeh al Bukhaaree is a great book that contains the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam, there is no doubt after the death of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam until today there is a great need to refer back to the  Qurŭaan and the Sunnah, because there are different groups that go against the Sunnah different groups that rejects the Sunnah, and different groups within Islam and they corrupt the Islam from within by belittling the Sunnah and the people of the Sunnah here we have in the verse

Allaah Azza Wa Jal says:

And let those who oppose the Messengerŭs (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) commandment (i.e. his Sunnah - legal ways, orders, acts of worship, statements) (among the sects) beware

It is not something simple oh, it is only Sunnah, people having this understanding that it is only Sunnah it is not something important

Allaah tabaraka wa taŭala said, Let the people be warned!

And let those who oppose the Messengerŭs (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) commandment (i.e. his Sunnah - legal ways, orders, acts of worship, statements) (among the sects) beware, lest some Fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions, earthquakes, killing, overpowered by a tyrant) should befall them or a painful torment be inflicted on them. Sŭrat An-Nŭr (The Light) (24:63)

Imaam Hafidh Ibn Katheer Rahimahullaah in his Tafseer of the above ayah

AiŭAmru Rasuloo llaahi sallallahu alayhi wasallam, meaning that Allaah tabaraka wa  taŭala is talking about the orders of the Prophet, but does it meaning that he said, that you must do, No!

Ibn Katheer said, Wa huwa sabiloohu wa min hajjuhu, wa tareekatuhu, wa Sunnahtuhu, wa Sharŭeeatuhu.

Ibn Katheer Said what Allaah Tabarakta wa taŭala what is meant by this Ayah is, is Allaah Tabarakta wa taŭala only referring to the command of the Prophet? No it is: Ibn Katheer Rahimahullaah said that this is the way of The Prophet and the methodology of the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam, it is the character of the Prophet, it is the Sunnah of the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam, and it is the legislation of the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

Then he says: Faŭ tuzaan Akwalu wa Aŭmaluh, bi Akwaleehi wa Amalihee

Therefore, you weight the statements and the actions with that of the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam. Any one that addresses you anyone that informs you, you weight their statements, with that of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam

Fama wafeeka dhalika Qubee: whatever is in conformity to the statements and action of the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam is accepted.

Wa ma khalafahu wa huwa Mardoodu, ala qailihee:

That which goes against the statements of the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam is rejected

Wa faŭilih kainoon man kan. It is rejected upon that person that said it, and that person did it, whoever he maybe. That is something extremely important, important for those who reject the Sunnah and important for those who place the statement of man over, the actions and the statement of the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

Regarding the obedience in following the Sunnah of the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam

Allaah says in this tremendous ayah:

فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ حَتَّىٰ يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُواْ فِىٓ أَنفُسِہِمۡ حَرَجً۬ا مِّمَّا قَضَيۡتَ وَيُسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمً۬ا (٦٥

. But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission Sŭrat An-Nisŭ (The Women)(4:65)

Allah Tabarakta wa taŭala swore by Himself!

Thatŭs is to make the Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam while he is alive and referring back o his Sunnah after his death

Then: judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions and they find no difficulty no hesitance within themselves and they submit whole heartily!

Ibn Qayyim Rahimahullaah said: mentioned in Eŭilamul Muqaŭeen pertaining to this vers in Sŭrat An-Nisŭ  (4)(The Women)  vers( :65)

He said: Aksama Allahu Subhanahu bi naafsihee ala Nafŭyl Imaanee anil Ibaad hata yuhakeemu rasuloohu sallallahu alayhi wasallam fi qulee ma shajara bayŭinahum mina daqeeqi wa daleel.

He said Allaah Azza wa Jal has sworn by Himself, negating faith from the servants until they make The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam a judged in everything that they dispute in, that which is clear and that which is unclear.

Wa lam yakhtafee fi Imaani Bih hadah tahkheem, bi mujareedihi hataa yan ta fee ansudhureehi min harijaa wa diqaŭa min qadhaŭeehi wa Hukmihi.

And Allaah did not suffices by mentioning that they have to make the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam a judge , but they also had to remove any tightness and uneasiness , because of the ruling of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam.

Wa lam yakhtafee, minhum aŭdhaan bi dhaalik, and Allaah also did not suffice that with that.

Hata Yusaleemun tasleman wa yanqaadhu Inqiyaadan.

Allah also did not suffice with that, but they must submit whole heartily and they must follow. This was the statement of Ibn Qayyim Rahimahullaah pertaining to that particular vers and there are many more text that can be mentioned with regards to the obedience and the obligation of following the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wasallam.
