Narrated by al-bayhaqi in his book 'Sunan al-Kubra' from narration of Abdurahman bin al-Harith bin Abu Ubaydah on the authority of his grandfather who said:
'I went out of the masjid with Abu Hurairah at Dhuha time(before Zhur), and we came across a woman who was wearing a perfume which we had never smelt the likes of before. abu Hurairah said to her : alayki as-sallam she answered 'wa alayka'
he said: where are you heading? she said : to the masjid he said: so what have you perfumed yourself for, with this perfume? she said: for the masjid he said: do you swear by Allah she said I swear by Allah he said do you swear by Allaah she said i swear by Allaah
he said my beloved Abul-Qasim (the Prophet) informed me: The prayer is not accepted from a woman who wears perfume for other than her husband, until she washes herself just like the washing from defilement.'
then Abu Hurairah said:'go and wash your self from this perfume, then come back and pray.
