In addition to shaving faces (#1):
2) The qaza' cut (shaving part(s) of the head and leaving the other part(s)), like the mohawk or the bald fade
3) Directing people to a place where they can get #1 or #2. If a barber is requested to perform #1 or #2, then he excuses himself, advises, and does not direct them anywhere to get those things done.
4) Working directly with the opposite sex, either as colleagues or customers
5) Listening to or engaging in gossip or backbiting, as this is part of the barber shop/beauty salon culture in America and elsewhere
