Ibn Abbaas said ((The Prophet combined between Dhuhr and Asr and Maghrib and Ishaa in Madeenah in other than (a time of) fear or rain)) Reported by Muslim
Sheikh Albaanee-rahimahullah- said :(One can understand that combining in times of rain was well known in the time of the Prophet, if this wasnt the case then what would be the benefit in negating rain here (in this hadeeth), as if this was a justifiable reason for combining) [Irwaa 30/3]
And also due to what Maalik narrated from Naafi (Abdulaahi Ibn Omar used to combine the prayer with the rulers if they would combine the prayer between Maghrib and Ishaa in times of rain) [Graded authentic by Sheikh Albaanee in Irwaa]
