Bismillah,

As salamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,

What is the permissibility of reading non-fictional books with the intention of building a stronger vocabulary for the purpose of giving da'wa.  Is this considered a waste of time?

Reading Fictional novels I know are pointless, and often of the time they contain much haraam.  Not to say that non-fiction books donýt contain haram.  But supposing you had a non-fictional book, that didnýt have magic, romance, etc, would it be permissible to read such a novel?

If this question was previously raised on this forum, please provide the link.

Baarakallahu Feekum, wa jazakumullahu Kair
