Ya ikhwaan,Could I have the islamic ruling on circumsission?please clarify to me if it is a fardh or sunnah!

Wa alaykum as salaam wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh akhee Nishil,

Here is what I found at http://www.troid.org/sisters/children/the-manners-of-welcoming-the-new-born-child-in-islaam.html "It is prescribed that the boy be circumcised, it is recommended that the circumcision take place on the seventh day, but it is obligatory to circumcise before the boy reaches puberty."
