Asalaamu alaykum wa'rahmatullahi wa'barakaatuh

Is it from the sunnah that one person says the du'aa for the conclution of a gathering or sitting with the intention that by this one person saying the du'aa will suffice the rest of the people at the sitting or gathering?

Can the tu'laabul Ilm please shed some light on this matter because a lot of people do this, whether it is from the sunnah or not.

Barakallaahu feekum.
