Does anyone know of any guidence from the people of knowledge about what we should do with childrens clothes that we are given as presents that have images of things that have a soul on them. Small images can be covered with iron on tranfers of Non-living things but many clothes have too numerous images to cover. What should we do when implementing sheikh Uthaimeen's fatawa that such clothes are haram.

Some muslims give them away again to those muslims who do not believe that wearing such clothes are haram.

Others give them in charity to poor muslims.

Others sell them to the kuffar in second hand markets.

Others throw them out in the rubbish.

what is the best method of dealing with this type of clothing?

On the authority of Ibn 'Abbaas, the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) said:

quote:

الصُّورَةُ الرَّأْسُ، فَإِذَا قُطِعَ الرَّأْسُ، فَلاَ صُورَةَ

"The image (soorah) is the head, so if the head is cut off, then there is no image."

Shaykh al-Albaanee discusses its sources and declares it to be authentic in Silsilatul-Ahaadeethis-Saheehah (1921).

He also mentioned, "As for printed pictures on paper and embroidered images in materials, then it is not sufficient to draw a line through the throat to make it as if the head has been cut off from the head.  Rather, the head must be (entirely) removed." (4/554 from the Silsilah)

And Allaah knows best.

yah moosaa ,

A question..

So removing the eyes is not enough, is this correct? It has to be the whole head?
