Someone told me recently that it is not allowed to grow plants/flowers in the bathroom/toilet.Is this true i.e. Is it forbidden to grow plants in the baitul halaa?

بسم الله الرحمان الرحيم

As we know as a principle in our deen is that everything in the dunyaa is HALAAL until there is a text form the book or Sunnah forbidding it, and everything in the issues of deen are HARAAM until we have a text from the book or Sunnah allowing it.
So when someone claims something to be halaal or haraam then he is to produce evidence to support his claim as he's claim now suggests that something is Halaal or Haraam for the Muslims. Allaah has warned us in His book about speaking about that which we do not know and it is the root of all evil!

I advise all the brothers and sisters to take much much benefit from the articles from wwwspubs.com. You will find many great articles on the issues if Bid?ah and its definition so people can't confuse you when they say this is haraam and this is halaal. We should read and try and research more instead of every time a question comes into our heads we put up a post about it.

Akhee Abu Salmaan, I think what you meant to say was that everything in the issues of 'Ibaadah (worship) are Haraam until we have a text from the book or Sunnah allowing it, as opposed to Deen. The Deen consists of such things as Mu'amalaat (dealings between people) that would be considered Halaal until a text would prove it to be Haraam, whereas all forms of 'Ibaadah are considered Haraam until a text affirms their validity.
