A Muslim man married a Muslim woman. Her father, who prayed and seemed to be Muslim, was the walee. It was later discovered that he was not even a Muslim due to major shirk in his 'aqeedah. This was not known at the time of the marriage.
Is this marriage still valid since the walee must be the same deen as the girl getting married?
Shaykh Muhammad 'Umar Baazmool was asked this question tonight. His answer:
"Their marriage is saheeh (sound), there is no problem here."
