The Dajjaal and the Khawaarij
In the Musnad of Imaam Ahmad there is the hadeeth of Abdullaah bin Amr bin al-Aaas in which he narrates:
I heard the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) saying: "There will emerge a people from my Ummah from the East who recite the Qur'an but it does not go beyond their throats. Every time a faction amongst them emerges it will be cut off. Every time a faction amongst them emerges it will be cut off", until he said it ten times, "Every time a faction amongst them emerges it will be cut off, until the Dajjaal appears amongst their (later) remnants."
This hadeeth is pertaining to the Khawaarij (Takfiris) and Ibn Maajah also brings some hadeeths in this regard in his Sunan under the chapter heading: Chapter Concerning the Mention of the Kharijites, and in which the Prophet repeated the statement, "Every time a faction amongst them emerges it will be cut off" twenty times.
Since the Dajjaal will appear amongst such people of such an orientation, by textual statement in the revealed texts, then it is necessary for us to know who are these people, what are their doctrines, ideologies and what are their source works, books and figureheads.
