Topic: Dr. 'Abdullaah Hakim Quick's Position Towards As-Salafiyyah

In his Book, ?Islam and the African in America: The Sunni Experience?, Dr. Abdullah Hakim Quick said on page 15:

>> Other Islamic movements coming out of the Muslim world which have a growing effect on the African Americans include ?The Khilafat Movement ?(Hizb al-Tahrir), and the Salafiyyah Movement of Saudi Arabia.
????.
The ?Salafiyyah? movement which originally focused on the purification of Islamic theology and the use of the authentic sources as the basis of Islamic lifestyle, has recently taken on the shape of a movement with its leadership in the Middle East and its followers all over the world. The return of the American students from the Islamic Universities in Saudi Arabia and the vacum in the local Sunni leadership has given impetus to the ?Salafiyyah?. Growing numbers of African American Muslims are flocking to the conferences of ?The Islamic Assembly of North America? and ?The Qur?an and Sunnah Society?. The rigid presentation of Islamic principles coupled with a Middle Eastern cultural application has hampered this movement from becoming a relevant force in America. If the ?Salafiyyah? is able to apply the ?pure teachings? of Islam in a relevant way and avoid the pitfalls of oppression of women, elitism and division, it may very well become one of the leading influences on Islamic thought in the West. <<

Taking a look at his website, the manhaj of Abdullah Hakeem Quick is Ikhwaanee, without a doubt!
