"The Ruling Concerning The Coming Together Between The Ahlus-Sunnah And The Rawaafidh (Shee'ah) & Co-operation With Them In Jihaad"

Answer by Al-Imaam Ibn Baaz

(May Allaah's Mercy be upon him)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Source: Majmoo Fatawaa wa Maqaalaat, Volume 5.

Question: Based upon the knowledge of your eminence of the history of the Raafidhah [Shee'ah]. What is your position regarding initiating the coming together between Ahlus-Sunnah and between them?

Answer: "The coming together of Ahlus-Sunnah and the Raafidhah is not possible because the beliefs are different. The Belief of the Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah is to single out Allaah alone with worship and sincerely making worship for Allaah, The Most Perfect, The Most High, and not to call upon anyone along with Him, neither an Angel drawn close nor a Prophet sent.

And it is Allaah who knows the matters of the Unseen. And from the belief of the Ahlus-Sunnah is love of the Companions, may Allaah be pleased with all of them and He is pleased with them ? and to believe that they are the most excellent of the creation of Allaah after the Prophets, and the best of them is Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq, then 'Umar, then 'Uthmaan, then 'Alee, may Allaah be pleased with all of them. And the Raafidhah oppose this, so there is no reconciling between the two [beliefs], just as there is no reconciling between the Jews, the Christians, the idol-worshippers and the Ahlus-Sunnah. So for this reason there is no coming closer between the Raafidhah and between the Ahlus-Sunnah due to the differing beliefs as we have clarified."

Question: Is it possible/permissible to fight alongside them (i.e. the Raafidhah) against the foreign enemy such as the communists and so on?

Answer: "I don?t see that to be possible/permissible. Rather it is obligatory upon Ahlus-Sunnah to be united and be a single ummah, a singular body and to invite the Raafidhah to adhere to whatever is indicated by the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger, may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him, by way of the Truth.

And if they cling to that, they will be our brothers and upon us would be to co-operate with them. And so long as they continue upon that which they are upon from hatred of the Companions except for a few of them; so their cursing of As-Siddeeq (Abu Bakr) and 'Umar and their worship of the household of the Prophet such as 'Alee, may Allaah be pleased with him, and of Faatimah, Hasan and Hussain ? and likewise their belief in the twelve Imaams that they are infallible and that know the affairs of the Unseen; and all this from the most false of falsehoods ? And all this opposes that which Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah are upon."

SALMAAN AL-AWDAH'S VIEW ON LEBANON JULY 2006

"Al-Hayât Kalimah" is Salman?s weekly television program. During one these program's, Salmaan al-Awdah makes clear his Ikhwaanee/Bannaawee methodology that he is still upon:
quote:
?We need to use this crisis a means to achieve unity. We need to put our differences aside for the time being. We need to assume responsibility for these crises, knowing with full faith that Allah is just in His decisions.?
(Taken from the website of Salman Al-Oadah)

So the differences between Ahlus-Sunnah and various sects such as the Shee'ah should be put aside?

Just note how this differs from the way of the Salaf and our Ulemah such as Ash-Shaikhul-Mujaddid Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) as stated above.

And Hasan al-Banna, from whom the likes of whom Salmaan Al-Awdah and Safar al-Hawaali draw from, said:

quote:
"You know, O brothers, that there is no Imaam in the present day and it is necessary for us to forget everything and abandon everything for freeing the Islamic lands.."
(From the words of Hasan al-Banna also from the book 'Fee Qaafilatil-Ikhwaan al-Muslimeen')

And:

"Know that the Sunni and Shee'ah are Muslims. The statement 'laa ilaaha illallaaha Muhammad Rusoolullaah' unites them, and this is the basis of the 'aqeedah. The Sunni and the Shee'ah are equal in this respect and they are BOTH UPON PURITY. As for the difference between them, then it is only in matters in which it is possible to bring them both together."
(Quoted by al-Tilmisaanee in 'Dhakariyaat laa Mudhakkiraat' pg. 249-250)

As for Syed Qutb, then he said:

quote:
"And Islaam does not feel uneasy about about the differences of mankind in 'aqeedah and manhaj, rather it considers this as something necessitated by natural disposition and a goal from a Higher Will..."
('Nahwa Mujtami' Islaami' p. 103)

So this is the way of the 'Harakiyyeen' the world over who claim for themselves Scholarly knowledge.

Allaama Siddeeq Hassan Khaan (rahimahullah) stated:

And we have (already) seen the Raafidhah of India, and they name themselves Al-Imaamiyyah and Ash-Shee-ah.  They believe in declaring the Sahaabah to be upon disbelief, and abuse them openly (without doubt) in their books, and with their tongues, and curse them (a manifest curse).  Likewise, (they are immersed in complete blindness) in India and in other places.  Indeed, they are QARAAMITAH by origin.

And when it is firmly established by way of the Qur'aan and the Hadeeth that (indeed) these ones are disbelievers, then it is obligatory to issue against them the judgement that is issued against the disbelievers in all of the AFFAIRS and RULINGS of the Religion; pertaining to (abandonment) of MARRIAGE with them, (abandonment) of JIHAAD alongside them, refuting their MADHAB, showing open rejection against their ACTIONS, and hold the belief that they are upon other than ISLAAM, and that with regards to the reality about them, they are the FILTHIEST amongst the sects of the world.

Sheikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:

The nifaaq and zandaqah (found) with the Raafidah is more than that which is (found) with all the sects/groups.  Rather, it is inevitable that every single one of them has an aspect of Nifaaq; for indeed, the basis of the nifaaq that is founded upon lying, is that a man utters with his tongue that which is not in his heart just as Allaah informed about the munaafiqoon.  The Raafidah take this to be from the Fundamentals of their religion and name it Taqiyyah; and relate this (on behalf) of the leaders of Ahlu bayt, whom Allaah freed from (all) of that.

Sheikh Fawzaan And Sheikh Ibn Ibraaheem On The Raafidah

Sheikh Saaleh al Fawzaan (Hafidha-hullaah) said:

In the time of the Abbaasids the sect of the Ubaydiyyoon appeared, and they are a faction of the Ismaaeeli Shee-ah, as they associate themselves with Ismaa'eel Bin Muhammad Bin Jafar, and this is why they are named Ismaaeeliyyah and Faatimiyyah because they claim they are from the progeny of Faatimah, and this is why it is said to them 'Faatimiyyoon'.  In reality, they are actually from the JEWS, they manifested Islaam but acts of disbelief appeared from them, and at the end, their rulers actually claimed uloohiyyah (divinity), such as Al-Haakim al-Ubaydi.

Sheikh Ibn Ibraaheem (rahimahullaah) said:

The Banu Ubayd al Qaddaah, those who claimed that they are the 'Faatimiyyoon', and whoever assisted them.  And in reality they are just claimants, they are not in fact 'Faatimiyyoon', their father, and the story of his marriage to a woman, and also their history and is known.

The trusted scholars of the ummah have never ceased to revile them in their deen and their genealogy, and they mention that they are from the offspring of the MAGIANS or the JEWS.

Imaam Muqbil Replies: Taking Money From The Rafidah For The Salafi Dawah?

Transcribed by Umm Ismaa'eel as-Salafiyyah for Salafi Publications (Jumaada-Ulaa 1422H, August 2001.[Article ID:BDH050006]

This tape is available from Salafi Publications- translated by Aboo Talha Daawood, translation spoken and presented by Aboo Khadeejah (1997).  What follows is a transcript of Question 5 only.

Question number 5.  The questioner says:

What is the verdict regarding (saying) that the Salafi dawah can request money from the Shee'ah -i.e. the Raafidah- in order that they may use this money in calling to Allaah?

The Shaykh replies:

'The Shee'ah will not assist except one who will compromise with the Sunnah, or compromise with part of the Sunnah.  And Allaah says in His Noble Book:

'And whoever fears Allaah-has taqwah of Allaah-then He will make a way out for him, provide for him from sources which he did not expect.'

'And the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said, 'If you truly relied upon Allaah, as you should rely upon Him, then He will provide for you just as the birds are provided with provision.  They go out hungry in the morning and they come back full and satisfied.'

So we are not more jealous in favour of the creation than Allaah, the Most Perfect and the High, than He is for His creation.  And we are not more merciful to the creation than Allaah is to His creation!  So Allaah, the Perfect and the Most High, makes the affairs easy.

'Then the Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said, 'whoever leaves something for the sake of Allaah, then Allaah will replace that thing with something better than it'.

So the Raafidah-would they assist upon good?  Would they assist upon good?  The Raafidah have in the past, taken the side of the Jews and the Christians, as Shaykhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah said in Minhaaj as-Sunnah, and Imaam adh-Dhahabee mentioned in al-Muntaqa Minhaaj as-Sunnah.  And this is mentioned by al-Haafidh Ibn Katheer in al-Bidaayah wan-Nihaayah.

So the Raafidah-i.e. the Shee'ah who curse the Companions and many other evil things- so the Raafidah take the side of the Jews and the Christians against the Muslims!  So they are not prepared to assist a person of the Sunnah.

'Yes. Some Jama'aahs, some groups and parties, have compromised, and compromised, and compromised, due to their taking wealth from the Raafidah!  And likewise, also some people of Egypt compromised-those who wrote books in accordance with the desires of the Raafidah such as Aboo Rayyah and his likes.

And Allaah's Aid is sought

[Ar-raj-ah]

The Raafidah Heretics Belief That The Imaams Of Ahlul Bayt Will Return To The World At The End Of Time

Imaam Barbahaaree (rahimahullaah) stated:

The return to this world of those who have died (Ar-raj-ah)is an innovation and is disbelief in Allaah, the Sublime.  Whoever professes to believe it, is a disbeliever in Allaah and in this there is no doubt.  Whoever believes in ar-raj-ah and says that Ali Ibn Abee Taalib is alive and will return before the Day of resurrection and says the same concerning Muhammad Ibn Ali, Ja'far Ibn Muhammad and Moosaa Ibn Ja'far and talks about the station of the Imaams and that they know the unseen, beware of them!  They are disbelievers in Allaah, the Sublime.1

Sheikh Saaleh al Fawzaan commented on the above statement saying:

And concerning the statement of Imaam Barbahaaree: 'Whoever believes in Ar-raj'ah': This is with regards to the Shee'ah, for they say, that the dead Imaams from ahlul bayt will return at the end of time, and that they will speak with justice, and that they will bring out Umar, Aboo Bakr and the sahaabah from their graves and burn them.

And concerning the statement of Imaam Barbahaaree (rahimahullaah): 'Whoever professes to believe it, is a disbeliever in Allaah and in this there is no doubt': The one who speaks with the statement of Ar-raj'ah in this manner, then no doubt he is a disbeliever in Allaah (Azza-Wa-Jal).

And concerning the statement of Imaam Barbahaaree (rahimahullaah): 'And says that Ali Ibn Abee Taalib is alive': The extremists from amongst the (raafidah) say that Ali did not die and that he is in the clouds, and they worship him.

And concerning the statement of Imaam Barbahaaree (rahimahullaah): 'And Muhammad Ibn Ali'the son of Hussain al Baaqir, 'And Ja'far ibn Muhammad' the son of Ali Ibn Hussain, and he is Ja'far As-Saadiq, 'And Moosaa Ibn Ja'far'al-Kaaýdhim Ibn Jaýfar As-Saadiq; and that is why the raafidah call themselves al-moosaawiyyah.  And al-musaawiy is an affiliation to Moosaa Al-Kaadhim.

And concerning the statement of Imaam Barbahaaree (rahimahullaah): 'And talks about the station of the Imaams and that they know the unseen': They (the raafidah) believe that their imaams possess knowledge of the unseen and that they legislate and abrogate what they wish in the sharee'ah; because Allaah has preferred them with this.

'And that Indeed they' (i.e. the Imaams) 'possess knowledge of the unseen':  Is there anyone who has knowledge of the unseen besides Allaah?

And concerning the statement of Imaam Barbahaaree (rahimahullaah): 'Beware of them! They are disbelievers in Allaah, the Sublime': He is a disbeliever, the one who claims to possess knowledge of the unseen or that anyone else possesses knowledge of the unseen besides a Messenger  of Allaah, whom He has chosen (and whom He informs of the unseen as much as He likes).  Allaah said:

'(He Alone is) the All-Knower of the Ghaib (Unseen), and He reveals to none His Ghaib (Unseen).  Except to a Messenger (from mankind) whom He has chosen (He informs him of the Unseen as much as He likes)' [72:26-27]

Whoever Withholds Judgement With Regards To Uthmaan And Alee, He Is A Shee'ee

Imaam Barbahaaree (rahimahullaah) stated:

'Tu'mah Ibn Amr and Sufyaan Ibn Uyainah said, 'Whoever withholds judgment with regard to Uthmaan and Alee, he is Shee'ee.  He is not to be held as reliable, nor spoken to, nor sat with.  Whoever prefers Alee over Uthmaan is a Raafidee, who rejects the narrations from the Companions of Allaahýs Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam).  Whoever gives precedence to the four over the rest of them and supplicates for Allaah's Mercy upon the rest and withholds regarding their slips, he is upon the correct path and guidance in this matter'1

Sheikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (hafidha-hullaah) commented on the above statement of Imaam Barbahaaree (rahimahullaah) saying:

Whoever withholds in the affair of Uthmaan and Alee, and says that the khilaafah belongs to Alee and not to Uthmaan, is a shee'ee and is one to be disowned.

'He is not to be held as reliable' meaning: he is not judged to be reliable.

'He is not spoken to': (with) kind, pleasurable and agreeable speech.

'Nor sat with'; because his harm will be extended to the one who sits with him; and because the callers to misguidance do have an effect upon the man who sits with them and the one who accompanies them.

'Whoever prefers Ali over Uthmaan is a Raafidee'; meaning: with regards to the affair of the khilaafah.  As for with regards to which of them is more virtuous, then the ulama have differed with regards to this affair; some of them hold that Ali is more virtuous and others hold than uthmaan is more virtuous.  As for with regards to the affair of the khilaafah, then whoever prefers Ali over Uthman is from the people of misguidance; because the sahaabah along with Ali himself all agree that uthmaan is given preference (i.e. in the affair of the khilaafah)

'He (i.e. the one who prefers Ali over uthman in the affair of the khilaafah) is one who rejects the narrations from the Companions of Allaah's Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)'; they are named raafidah because they said to zaid ibn Ali, 'what do you say about Aboo Bakr and Umar?' He (Zaid) said: 'I love them and give them allegiance; because they were both the ministers of my grand father, the Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam).' So they said, 'then we reject you.'  So they rejected him and were named raafidah (the rejecters); because they rejected Zaid Ibn Ali.

'Whoever gives precedence to the four (i.e. Aboo Bakr, Umar, Uthmaan, and Ali) over the rest of them;'that is: over the rest of the Sahaabah, 'and supplicates for Allaah's Mercy upon the rest' of the sahaabah.

'And withholds regarding their slips'; withholds regarding the mistakes that occurred from some of them; because they are not infallible as individuals.  Indeed, some mistakes did occur from some of them but they have of excellence and Eemaan that which overrides their mistakes.  They have of companionship with the Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) that which overrides what occurred of minor mistakes.
