  As Salaamu alaikum;
I have attempted in the past to contact certain brothers to get information pertaining to the issue of leadership. At present in Ghana, there is an "Imaam of Ahlus Sunnah" who is supposed to represent the Sunnah here in opposition to the Ahmadiyyah, Soofee and Shiite.  However, these people are jaahil about manhaj and they don't want to know.  I met with the "Imaam" and informed him that he needs to consult the capable ulema with some of the issues facing him and he responded that there is no need to consult the ulema because they already know how to make wudu and salat.  Trust me, nothing could be more farther than the truth.  The only thing that most of these people have with them is the recitation of Qur'an.  I remember a few years back we had the "East Orange Issue".  Based on that, I was relaying to a few brothers here who have accepted the dawah that the "Imaam" is not my Imaam.  This caused some confusion among some of the brothers.  The country has a "National Imaam" which is a Soofee.  He was first, and recognized by all government.  Then, Ahlus Sunnah said they need an Imaam so they got one.  NOW, they are in the proccess of electing an "Ahlus Sunnah Imaam" of WEST AFRICA.  The growing group of brothers on the dawah here need some type of guidance as to what position to take in this issue.  So I am requesting again that those who have the abilitly to contact the people of knowledge, please present this issue to them.  Or if someone knows the hukum in this issue please provide it.
As Salaamu alaikum
Abdul Basir al-Yardi
