  as-salaamu 'alaykum,

jazakallaahu khayr for the beneficial article.

does this mean that we don't ask a person about their stance on, for instance, al-ma'ribee or aboo usaamah (i.e. when the person says that they are salafee, but we want to know for sure)?

from what is apparent, we don't test the people by asking them about the people of innovation.  however, we do ask about who the people sit with.  is my understanding correct?

Allaah's Messenger (sallAllaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: O Allaah, let there be love of these servants of yours, (i. e. Abu Huraira and his mother may Allah be pleased with them), in the hearts of the Believers and let their hearts be filled with the love of the Believers.

  Are you a Haraura?

Mu'adha narrated: A woman asked 'Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): Should I offer the prayers which I didn't offer because of menses?
'Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said,:Are you from Haraura? (a town in Iraq).
We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and used to get our periods, but he never orderd us to pray the missed  prayers or 'Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, We did not offer them.
