bissmillahi ar rahmaani ar rahim assalam alaykoum it is the story of a man who came to madinah asking about the moutashaabihaat (unclear , ambiguous verses of the Qor'an). It was at the time of khalifah 'Omar (radi ALlahou 'anhou). This last one, asked the name of the man, when he replied, he ('Omar) beat him directly up until the face of the man was bleeding. then the man said: it is enough ya amir al mou-minin, wa Llahi, this which i found in my head is gone (now). ya'ni this bid'ah about asking about the moutashaabihaat. This shows that 'Omar (radi Allahou 'anhou) did not make any other nasseeha to him than beat him. This was his nasseeha regarding this situation, because what the man did was something really wrong, and 'Omar (radi Allahou 'anhou) juged that this was the most appropriate meaning to make him undertsand the severity of it, wa Allahou ta'ala a'laam. In the sharh of kashf ash shoubouhaat, on salafipubs, in the foot notes, there are concise but great explanations about this sifah of the moubtadi' who use the moutashabihaat and leave aside the clear verses, to confuse minds, and take out from them the meaning that they will along their desires. " al haqqou min rabbika" (Ali 'Imran). Amina Le Joncour al-firanssiyyah as-salafiyyah.
