I just saw that Pepsi has a new ad campaign encouraging people to call upon that ugly green creature named "Yoda", and "if he answers you, you win."
Whether he answers you or not, YOU LOSE, you have committed shirk akbar, and caused all your deeds to be null and void!

Akhi Moosa, can you explain how these people 'call' upon Yoda? I mean, is it by phoning a number or 'calling' upon (it) by supplicating to it?!!
Maybe you could elaborate a bit more on this new ad campaign so that the Muslims might recognise it, and stay far far away.

I don't know anything about their ad campaign except that I saw an ad on the internet inviting me to "call upon Yoda" as mentioned... From what I understood about it, its theme was like in the Star Wars movies when the guy would call on that little green creature. We are invited to pretend to call upon him by calling a number and if he answers us, then we win.
My point was to show how light the disbelievers take the issue of calling on others besides Allaah, and I was not issuing a ruling about taking part in their contest in any way.
May Allaah grant us success and keep us away from worshipping idols.
