Topic: We Need Calrity On Some Issues, Please...

As Salaamu Alaykum Wa Rahman Tullahi
We have come across some statements that we need clarity on in our small community. Some of the people have come to us from a Salafi Masjid here in the west, a statement was asked about chewing gum during the fasting hours. We were told it's permissible as long as the gum is sugarless. I search here and found the statement, but when I asked someone who has studied, I was told this is a weak translation, and the gum is referring to an Arabic gum used for chewing. Can someone give me clarity. Also sisters having started using yarn in their hair to make their hair fuller or to beautify themselves, as yarn isn't considered fake hair, like a wig or weave, they think it's permissible, can we also get some clarity on that?

Jazakallah Khayr
