AS SALAAMU ALAIKUM WA RAHMATULLAH........ ALHAMDULILLAH THE TOP OF DECLAWING WAS BROUGHT UP.... WELL I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION ABOUT CATS....MINE HAS TO DO WITH NEUTERING A CAT....IS IT PERMISSIBLE?....CAN SOMEONE PLEASE ASK THE ULEMAH FOR ME?...INSHA ALLAH.... THE PROBLEM IS THAT MY CAT IS MATURE.....AND HE IS SPREADING HIS SCENT AROUND....ON THE FURNITURE ON THINGS LAYING AROUND....LIKE THIS...I HAVE TRIED TO GET A MATE FOR HIM...BUT I HAVE NOT BEEN SUCCESSFUL...MASHA ALLAH.....THIS MIGHT BE "CHANGING THE NATURE OF THE CREATION OF ALLAH"...SO I WANT TO ASK TO HAVE A FIRM POSITION....BARAKALLAHU FEEKUM.... In the West, claiming that they are protecting society and cats from harm, people have the sexual desire of their cats destroyed. What is the ruling for that? A. If cats are many and harmful, and if the cats are not harmed in the process, the operation you referred to is permitted, an option that is better than killing them after they are born. As sallamu alaikum wa rahamtualh We have a similar question, we have a female cat that has several litters of kittens every year. It is a difficult task to get rid of the kittens and it is also an expensive affair, buying cat food and litter for all of these cats. The kittens although cute are also a real hassle, they are very active and manage to tear a lot of things up and make a huge mess, constantly spreading the garbage around (they jump into the trash bin and knock it over). We also dont want any harm to come to the kittens by giving them to a animal shelter that might "put them to sleep". When we give the kittens away, some people use them for snake food or they sell them to labratories, it is a very big problem here in Germany and we can never totaly trust the people who come. So due to this is it permissible to have our cat spayed (neutered) due to the trouble it is causing us?
