Topic: How should we produce daleel?

  As salaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah wa Barakatu
I would like to know what are the correct procedures for producing daleel to people.
When asked to produce daleel on a topic, I hear the following phrases:
"The Shuyook said...."
Should we question who of the Shuyook?
"I read it somewhere/some time ago and _______said it is saheeh..."
Can we ask the person to bring forth what he read and the resources?
"I heard a tape or someone heard a tape and the Shaykh said......"
Can we ask to bring the tape or the witnesses to the Shaykh's speech?
Please, I am asking for one of the Students of Knowledge to explain to me what are the procedures, protocols, formats, methodology of producing and accepting daleel.  May Allah give you good.  Ameen.

I'm not a student but I may be able to help you with your question. The original principle regarding blind following is that it is not permitted except for a person who does not have the ability to understand the Daleel. So long as you are able to understand the Daleel then you should try to understand it and it is your right to know it.
