  as-salaamu 'alaykum,

a brother in a nearby prison writes:

quote:

There are different organizations that try to benefit people incarcerated, by trying to improve the condition of people here.  However these organizations have nothing to do with Islaam and many of their tenets are in total opposition to Islaam's stance on things.  For example they adopt families on the streets for christmas, they try to do things on these polytheistic holidays.  And most of the people in these organizations are the worst people, they engage in all sorts of actions from the amala shaytan.  Is being part of these organizations, such as the Jaycees and Stop the Violence, haram?
