As for Umar al Ashqar then i heard from our sheikh Muhammad Abdulwahhab Marzooq al Banna that he was one of his students in the Jamiat al Islamiyyah in Madinah and that later he followed the Manhaj of the Ikhwaanil Muslimeen. And that even Abdulrahman Abdulkhaliq who also later followed the manhaj of the Ikhwaan complained to Sheikh al Banna about Umar al Ashqar following the Ikhwaan. Allaah knows best. قال تعالى:{إنا نحن نزلنا الذكر وإنا له لحافظون} قال الشيخ السعدي - رحمه الله - في تفسيره (3/31): " فلا يحرف محرف معنى من معانيه( القرآن ) إلا وقيض الله له من يبين الحق المبين وهذا من أعظم آيات الله ونعمه على عباده المؤمنين".

Does anyone know anything about Sulaymaan al-Ashqar and is he related to 'Umar al-Ashqar? All I know is that he is/was a professor of Sharee'ah in Kuwait University, he wrote a book called "al-Mujalla fil-Fiqh il-Hanbalee," and he checked "Nayl ul-Maarib" by ash-Shaykh at-Taghlabee. I am sure he has a few more published works as well. Anyhow, I would greatly appreciate it if one the brothers in Kuwait can ask the Mashaayikh about him.
