as salaamu alaikum warahmatullah 1. Is it ok for people to call me by baasit, rather than abdulbaasit? 2. & is the name eemaan permissible? If i recall correctly i have read that the name eemaan has self praise (?) in it and is therefore not permissible to keep. Could some one be kind enough to post the answers. JazakAllaahu khair May Allâh help us and all the Muslims to understand His religion, to continually confirm us on it, stick to Sunnah and keep away from the innovation. JazakAllaahu khair akh moosa, is it possible to get more detail and any references on why these names are not permissible, in particular the name eemaan. Akhi unfortunately i cannot understand arabic and i couldn't therefore look into the Shaikh Uthaymeen, rahimullah site.
